Today is yesterday's tomorrow

Saturday, January 05, 2013

00:07 AM here - is it still today? Or tomorrow already?
Anyway, since one of my goals was blogging - here I am, just before bedtime.
So, my weekend (Friday and Saturday here) was very much off-track. Our daughter is getting married on Wednesday, so we had a family gathering at home, plus another Henna ceremony tonight (on a much smaller scale than for Naomi, but still, all the pies and sweets...)
But, here's for a new day! (Yes, definitely today emoticon )
And thank you all, dear SparkFamily, for being here - because just writing here makes me remember my priorities and re-commit to health.
So, I'm just going to pack the leftovers in containers, and then straight to bed.
Wishing you a good Sunday!

Back to tracking

Thursday, January 03, 2013

9:40 PM here. Today was the first day I tried tracking the Weight Watchers points.
My goals this week are:
1. Going back to tracking my food! Both WW points and just regular SP tracking.
2. Re-learning to drink water.
3. Blogging about the process.
emoticon
So:
3 - here I am!
2 - 5 glasses of water today... not enough, but better than before!
1 - SP food tracking was great! WW points - somewhat less convenient. But the strangest thing is that, while with the points I went over the 28 or 29 daily points - SP tracking told me I was still at the lowest end of the caloric range...

I had to stop tracking food because I was obsessing about it way too much. I did start tracking my fitness again though.

Tracking what you eat, I have found, is the key for keeping me within my calorie (and WW points) range. For me, they were close enough, but too much trouble to do together. I find the SP tracker easier, so I tend to stick with that. Though, I do like to change it up now and then. About the water, it gets easier, honestly! At first, it was a challenge to drink 2-3 glasses a day, but now I am closer to 10-12 a day, and I actually like it! You are taking all the right steps and headed in the right direction. Good for you!!

Getting back. One step at a time. Hopefully.

Thursday, December 13, 2012

Wow, it's been quite a long time since I wrote...
Here I am. Still shaky, but starting to get back to myself.
Still not really walking, in the workout sense - but wearing my SP pedometer every day (with the exception of Saturday).
Right now, for example, it's 3:25 PM and it says "4311 steps". That's something, isn't it?
Still eating crazily... Hanukkah holiday (we're in the middle of it) doesn't help, with all its traditions of eating fried food, doughnuts etc. BUT I start craving soups, fruits and veggies, instead of pastry and chocolate. That's another something.
Still not tracking food like I used to - but back to SPCoach.
So there is hope.

I discovered about myself, once again, that I am the kind of person who does much better with a plan (for years I believed that I could just "flow" and everything will be OK... Well, I can be flexible enough - but I do need a structure, very much).
That's why the SP tracking helps me so much. And the FlyLady system. And so on. (Hmmm, that's probably why my favourite hobby is counted cross-stitch...)
So, if it works - why trying to fix it?
But' it only works if I work it, doesn't it?
So I'm back to work emoticon

Good for you!!!! Happy to hear that you are back to work! Why are you shaky? Did something happen? I hope you are alright. Let me know.

That is great that you crave fruits, veggies and soups when you have all of the "goodies" available to you during Hanukkah! emoticon emoticon

I believe in you! I know that you believe in yourself and your beautiful family deserves to have you around for a long time! So make the decisions that will give you a healthy, happy long life!
