Dear friends

Friday, November 28, 2008

"Dear friends, let us continue to love one another, for love comes from God. Anyone who loves is a child of God and knows God. But anyone who does not love does not know God, for God is love. - This is real love-not that we loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son as a sacrifice to take away our sins. Dear friends, since God loved us that much, we surely ought to love each other. No one has ever seen God. But if we love each other, God lives in us, and his love is brought to full expression in us." I John 4:7-8, 10-12 (NLT)

We cannot separate Christianity from its roots found deep in love. It was in love that we were created. It is in love that our sins are forgiven. It is in love that we are to live for Jesus. In his book "Surrender To Love" Dr. David G. Benner writes, "Christianity is the world's great love religion. The Christian God comes to us as love, in love and for love. The Christian God woos us with love and works our transformation through love. - Only love can soften a hard heart. Only love can renew trust after it has been shattered. Only love can inspire acts of genuine self-sacrifice. Only love can free us from the tyrannizing effects of fear. There is nothing more important in life than learning to love and be loved. Jesus elevated love as the goal of spiritual transformation." How about you? Have you surrendered to God's love? Have you accepted His free gift of salvation and His unconditional love He has for you? If not, surrender today. Give Christ your heart. Let His love wash over your soul and renew you from the inside out. God is love and He loves you. Live in that love.

It's possible to have someone love ....

Monday, November 24, 2008

"For we know how dearly God loves us, because he has given us the Holy Spirit to fill our hearts with his love." Romans 5:5 (NLT)

It's possible to have someone love you and not be able to comprehend it. I know. For whatever reason, I was able to love others, tell others about God's love, but when it came to really feeling that same love, I experienced a major block. A sense of shame, false guilt and emptiness would come over me if I was forced to acknowledge that anyone loved me. I could hear the words "I love you", but could never get the emotions through my defenses. It was after this awareness that the grace of God and the ministry of the Holy Spirit gently brought me to the place where I could experience God's unconditional love. But it was not easy. How about you? Do you know that God loves you? If so, do you know it in a deep and personally felt way? Has the Holy Spirit filled your heart with His love? If not, do not despair; talk to God about it. Ask the Holy Spirit to work in your heart and make you more and more aware of the unconditional love that God has for you.

Have you ever had someone who betrayed you ....

Sunday, November 23, 2008

God is faithful! Have you ever had someone who betrayed you — who you could not trust?

God is the exact opposite of that — He is totally faithful and trustworthy. “He is the Rock, His works are perfect, and all His ways are just. A faithful God who does no wrong, upright and just is He.” You can know for sure that God loves you — and that He will always do what is best for you. “And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love Him, who have been called according to His purpose.”

If you are walking across a bridge, you want to know that the bridge will hold your weight — that you can trust walking on it. Please know that God is altogether trustworthy — no one who truly trusts in Him will ever be put to shame. God is faithful, and loving, and kind — His nature is truth. You can trust in Him with your whole life and He will never let you down.

Use from my weekly gobal prayer letter.

Well, the truth is that all of us, even with good intentions can be untrustworthy. That is why it is so wonderful that we can always trust God!!!

LIFE...

Thursday, November 20, 2008

Life can be unpredictable and messy. Everyone of us has drama in our life. We all have a story. We would rather have control over our situation, but so often we are simply left in the dark, wondering what to do. David experienced this. He had his difficulties, but instead of staying in the dark, he turned to God for help. He cried out to God and God became his light. He wrote, "You light a lamp for me. The LORD, my God, lights up my darkness." Psalms 18: 23. Today, if things become unclear, if you are bombarded with problems, or if dark clouds start to clutter up your sky, turn to God. He will light your path.
