The Lord will perfect that which concerneth me: Thy mercy, O Lord, endureth forever: forsake not the--works of Thine own hands.--PS. cxxxviii. 8.

As God leads me, will I go,--
Nor choose my way;
Let Him choose the joy or woe
Of every day:
They cannot hurt my soul,
Because in His control:
I leave to Him the whole,--
His children may.

Thankyou for your sharing of daily scriptures and quotes. I love the Lord and always need to be reminded of his word to change my flesh that is weak but in Him I am strong. Hugs Jen

Thought for today.

Wednesday, July 09, 2008

We may, if we choose, make the worst of one another. Every one has his weak points; every one has his faults: we may make the worst of these; we may fix our attention constantly upon these. But we may also make the best of one another. We may forgive, even as we hope to be forgiven. We may put ourselves in the place of others, and ask what we should wish to be done to us, and thought of us, were we in their place. By loving whatever is lovable in those around us, love will flow back from them to us, and life
will become a pleasure instead of a pain; and earth will become like
heaven; and we shall become not unworthy followers of Him whose name is Love.

    That is so refreshing.
I'm doing fine. Had a wonderful day yesterday, as I went to lunch with my dd, Maggie and then to the Historical Society so she could work on her extended term paper, which is due the first day of school. Having a computer sure is nice, compared to when I was in high school in the 60's and I used a manual typewriter at school, and a round erasure with a little brush on one end.

Its an hourly sometimes minute by minute choice to allow God to fill us with his love deny our fleshly ways and follow him one with another. Father I pray you fill us today with that unconditional love you provided for us to pass on to those we are in contact with today throughout the week and into the weekend.
Thankyou for the reminder Coleman. Remember the song make me a blessing. Today I will be singing it and asking God to add on Make me pleasant as well to be with. Hugs because of Him jen

Wow - that is so in line with what I was thinking about when I woke up this morning!! I was in Ireland in Mar .. but didn't get a chance (nor did I have the money) to go to Northern Ireland. Last night I was watching a program on the Travel Channel, and the host started out in Northern Ireland. One of the the things they talked about was the terrorism that was a way of life there until the cease-fire was signed. This morning I woke up thinking about what one of the men had said. I'll paraphrase since my photographic memory is broken!! hehe The young Catholics are socially interacting with the young Protestants and realizing that they don't have 2 heads, that they are just like us; and vice versa. So .. anyway .. sorry for the novella .. but it's amazing that your blog just falls into EXACTLY what I was thinking about!! God is so Good!! Love ya! Varina

‘‘Let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us . . .’’
(Heb.12:1–3)

Today's Featured Motivator was a surprise and a honor. The Scripture above helps me to fulfill my duties as a team leader, team member and as a friend.

Thank you.

I appreciate you and it's nice that other people do too! Praise God! William Wordsworth wrote "Small service is true service." Although this is a select group here on Spark .. you are helping people feel better about themselves and each other. It reminds me of that old Clairol Herbal Essence shampoo commercial .. you tell 10 friends, they tell 10 friends, they tell 10 friends .. etc .. it spreads .. Love will conquer all .. Jesus is Love .. amen!

The Lord is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? The Lord is the strength of my life; of whom shall I be afraid?--PS. xxvii. I.

Thou hidden Source of calm repose,
Thou all-sufficient Love divine,
My Help and Refuge from my foes,
Secure I am while Thou art mine:
And lo! from sin, and grief, and shame,
I hide me, Father, in Thy name.
C. WESLEY.

Whatever troubles come on you, of mind, body, or estate, from within or
from without, from chance or from intent, from friends or foes--whatever
your trouble be, though you be lonely, O children of a heavenly Father, be
not afraid!

"So we have not stopped praying for you since we first heard about you. We ask God to give you complete knowledge of his will and to give you spiritual wisdom and understanding. Then the way you live will always honor and please the Lord, and your lives will produce every kind of good fruit. All the while, you will grow as you learn to know God better and better." Colossians 1:9-10 (NLT)

TODAY'S THOUGHT Do you desire to live a way that will always honor and please God? Do you want to produce every kind of good fruit with your life? These are high and lofty goals that Paul gave to the church. These are goals that you and I need for our lives. But how do we achieve these? We do what Paul did. We pray and we don't stop praying that God would give us a complete knowledge of His will and that we would know God better and better as we gain in spiritual wisdom and understanding. It is through knowing God in this deep and intimate way that we will live the life He desires for us.

TODAY'S PRAYER Father, please give me a more complete knowledge of Your will for my life so I can live for you better and better. It is my desire to live a life that will always honor and please You, so help me gain in spiritual wisdom and understanding. AMEN

    Great post!

I do want to learn more. Ive been hesitant to get started because at 36 Im ashamed I dont know more about Him or how to glorify Him in my everyday life. I want to learn, just embarrassed, ya know? My parents were not ones who forced religion on us. We went to church when we wanted to and they let us decide what religion we wanted to be so we could be baptised in that religion. My sister has succeeded, but Im still stuck.

So thank you for your post.
Shanni
