My prayer today. 12/25/07

Tuesday, December 25, 2007

Dear Lord, thank You for Your graciousness towards me. I praise Your generosity! Help me to receive all you have for me in the coming year. And help me to value giving as much as I value receiving, in Jesus' Name, Amen.

Faithful and all powerful Lord, thank you for being trustworthy and true. Help me continue to be faithful to you in what I do and say! and think during this stressful yet marvelous time. WISDOM

A fool vents all his feelings,
But a wise man holds them back.

Prayer today.

Tuesday, December 18, 2007

I thank you, Holy Father, that you keep your promises. I know you don't have to keep your word to me, but because of your love and kindness, I know you will. So please help me be more faithful to you as I seek to honor my commitments and pledges to you. I know this is important to you not only because I need to learn obedience, but I also need to develop a character more consistent with your own. Thank you for hearing my heart. In Jesus name I pray. Amen.

My thought for today.

Monday, December 17, 2007

"When they saw the courage of Peter and John and realized that they were unschooled, ordinary men, they were astonished and they took note that these men had been with Jesus." Acts 4:13

Have you ever noticed how deeply influenced we can be by those that we spend time with? Reading books by the same author will deeply influence you to their way of thinking. People who have been married for a long time become more and more alike. A student becomes much like their favorite teacher and a disciple of martial arts much like their sensei. Today's passage tells us that those that were arresting Peter and John were astonished at how much influence Jesus had on these men. How about you? Can your family tell who you have been spending time with? Who do those at your work believe you are inspired by?

Thank you. This is thought provoking, even though it's really common sense. We tend to associate with people who are like us so, we don't think about the influence they have on us. But we are still individuals, so the wrong comment from the wrong person can change our whole mindset if we aren't rooted and grounded in God's word.

I consider it a compliment when it's Wednesday night, and I may have to work a little longer, that my co-workers will say to me, "don't have you have to leave for Bible Study?". I think they see that who I spend time with is the reason that I don't stress the little things in life. I know that regardless of what I SEE, that it's WHO I know that matters.
