At a required training for work yesterday, a couple of the teachers and I got in to a conversation about food, low-carbing, etc. and the subject of peanut butter came up. Turns out, a fellow teacher and I share a PB obsession! And, neither one of us can really eat it for different reasons.
Her reason? Her son is deathly allergic to tree nuts. My reason? Stalls my weight loss and I can usually not practice good portion control when consuming it, lol.
So, we reminisced about our favorite PB recipes such as PB and bananas, PB, banana and honey sandwiches, PB on warm waffles with syrup, PB and apple slices, PB and chocolate ice cream from Baskin n Robbins....*sigh*...PB and pancakes with syrup....Pb and jelly sandwiches on really crappy, squishy white bread (no other bread will do!) and just plain old spoonfuls of PB!!
I love this woman and we are planning a PB retreat one day, lol!
I do miss these foods, not on a regular basis, but I have days of wistful longing but, the reflection in the mirror reminds why NOT to do it!

It's been years since I have dared to put a short skirt on but, hubby encouraged me to show off what I have been working on, so I obliged. I was very nervous, even though it was a size 10 (which secretly excited the you know what out of me!!!) and felt a little embarrassed as we walked in to the club. But, as always, hubby was so proud and kept telling me how proud he was of me and how proud he was to be with me! Any wonder why I love this man? :D
The skirt was a hit, I got over my skirt-anxiety and ended up feeling very sexy after all. I just might even buy another one! We danced all night, hung out with our good friends (seen below) and brought the new year in on a very happy note!

Last year on New Year's eve, I weighed 182. This New Year's eve I weigh 185ish. Last week I weighed 188ish. This week I weigh 185ish.
So, I am up three pounds from last year and down three pounds from last week! Can't complain I guess, at least it's coming off again!!
We have a night of dancing planned with some friends so maybe it will be another pound tomorrow or Friday! We shall see!
I wish everyone a safe and merry New Year's eve - enjoy and celebrate your successes and leave the failures behind in 2008. It's a time for fresh starts and renewed committments.
We can do this! !Sí se puede!!

We all depend heavily on seeing those numbers move downward on our scales. It feels great, the smell of success heavy in the air, yet, when we stall or go up 1 or 2 pounds, PANIC!
This is why so many resources tell us to measure our successes with other methods, measuring, how our clothes fit, how we look and how we feel. Yes, numbers are more....tangible, right?
But, take this example: I have been 100% on track for ohhhh 2 weeks now? Staying on plan with food and exercising practically everyday. My weight has been stubborn, no movement. Yes, a large portion of this can be attributed to hormones since it was TOM right in the middle of it all. However, when I started back a couple weeks ago, my favorite pair of boots were very, very hard to get on over my calves. I was so mad at myself!! How depressing! And, a very adorable black mini-skirt that I had bought in a size 10 didn't look right to wear anymore (I have never worn this skirt :( ).
Sounds dismal, right? Well, never fear! Yesterday, I got dressed and wanted to wear said boots and they slid right on, fitting better than ever. And, I tried on the skirt because I wanted to wear it out for New Years and guess what? Looks lovely! Still no scale movement, right? But, my body is changing for the better, regardless of that stupid scale.
I guess the "experts" are right

What a couple of weeks it has been here in Seattle! Ice, wind, snow and now rain! With the whole family home and cooped up in the house, it's been hard to get any computer time. I am so happy the snow is finally melting so hubby can go back to work and we can get out with out having to walk everywhere (which, incidentally was not a bad thing....but its nice to drive a little further away from the house!!).
I did alot of holiday baking and didn't taste a drop! I am still very much on plan and exercising again because I wanted to start the New Year off right and ahead of the game, not trying once again to play catch up. I am feeling very good right now and very strong :)
Our holiday was wonderful, the boys got some great presents and really enjoyed themselves and we are looking forward to New Year's eve. Hubby and I will hit the dance floor while the boys have a "party" at Nana and Papa's house, I cannot wait!
Ok, back to getting the disaster cleaned up around here...where did all this stuff come from anyways????? LOL! :D
I wish everyone a wonderful New Year, full of resolutions, committments and rewards. We are all working towards the same things such as better health, renewed spirits and strong discipline in our daily march and I am with each and everyone of you as we move in forward. Let's keep it up and keep it going and make 2009 an AMAZING year!!!!
