Most would associate November with the holiday, Thanksgiving, family & food, Black Friday sales, and a little extra time off work. What many forget is the 'meaning' behind Thanksgiving. Not only should it be a time of reflection of self, true thankfulness and appreciation for what you've been blessed with, it should also be a time when people help those in need. In the spirit of giving and doing for others in the month of November I share the following story:
This came in an email a couple of weeks ago "Your son was such a great helper to a friend the other day who didn't eat lunch for 3 days. He brought him to my attention, now he will have lunch everyday. Good son!!!!"
There were times when my son would come home hungrier than usual and I chalked it up to "growing boy" since he is pre-teen but built like a 16 year old. I found out that he was sharing HIS food with this friend...but he never told me.
The most amazing people in the world are those who do things for others in need, without looking for the attention and taking credit.
Giving...make it happen all through out the year.
