Here's to Spring!

O.K., so February is almost over and instead of the 10 lbs. I had hoped to loose by the end of February, it's 7 lb.s Not bad considering how inconsistent I am. I'm good through the week and there's just something about the weekend! I know it's because I'm busy running around and I don't have my set time to eat breakfast before I leave for work and I don't have my little packed lunch ready for me like I do at work and then by the time Friday nights runs around, we're exhausted and don't want to cook anything so frozen pizza sounds good. Oh and how about a bowl of ice cream or maybe some popcorn to watch the family moive. Saturday morning the girls want homemade pancakes or waffles and then I add blueberries and they're so yummy and then finally after all the basketball games, softball practice, etc. we're back home so let's have frozen pizza again! You get the picture. It's a bunch of excuses, but it's reality. So, I'm going to keep up the good work during the week and do the best I can during the weekends. Spring & Summer bring a lot more opportunities and desirable (to me) exercise so here's to Spring! emoticon

  


Not Enough Calories?

Week 4 started with my "new beginning" and I gained a lb. I was laying in bed last night and was actually hungry. I counted up the calories in my head and figured I had only about 1,000 calories. The weight gain could be that or my exercising still isn't up to par. I'm going to start recording my calories again and keep them around 1,300.

I decided to set my goals at 10 lbs. at a time until I achieve my final goal of 27 lbs. I've already lost 7 lbs. and am very excited. I can't wait for Spring to get here because I get very active in the Spring. I coach and play softball and I can get out and walk more. I've been going to the Y a couple of days a week, but it's not the same as being outside! I've got my eating back in control for 3 weeks now. I'm very proud of how I'm doing. I'm confident I will reach my 10 lb. goal by the end of February! If history repeats itself, my weight loss usually slows down after the first 10 lbs. (I'm very experienced at this), so I really have to continue to be motivated.

O.K., I just finished up BLC7 and my performance was very underwhelming. I managed to gain a lb. I did learn that when I'm tracking food & exercise I loose, when I'm not, I don't - simple! The first 3-4 weeks went pretty well and I lost about 5 lbs. and then the bad habits kicked back in. I got really busy again with school and kid's activities so I stopped exercising and eating right. The good thing is with the accountability of being on a team, I still managed to keep it under control. So on to BLC8 - the next 12 weeks will include most of the holiday season, so it will be a good way to keep the holiday binging in check.

BLC - Week 6

O.K., I just finished 6 weeks on my BLC. I have lost 2.9 lbs - in 6 weeks. That's not great. I have 17 lbs. to reach my goal. I wanted 15 of those to be gone by the end of this challenge and we're half way over. Now, I know I can't change what happened the past 6 weeks. I am very happy that I haven't lost, gained and then have to loose the same 2-3 lbs. over again (which has been my trend). S emoticon

I know my problem (or challenge). I like to eat!! I eat a lot of healthy foods - grilled chicken, lots of fruits & veggies, whole wheat, but I also like a big portion. I also like the snacks!

Last night I had a good dinner - grilled lean hamburger patty, whole wheat bun (big ole tomato slice on my burger & nothing else), and a big salad and some watermelon for dessert. Around 8:00 p.m. I really wanted to snack, but I knew today was weigh in, so I didn't have a snack. I stayed the same, which was pretty good since I over-indulged over the weekend (TOM). So, after this ranting, I know what I have to do - buckle down and get it done.
