Heart Attacks

Monday, February 28, 2011

Well, I had an interesting weekend. My sister called me early Saturday morning from the hospital. She had rushed her husband to the hospital with chest pains. He ended up having a heart attack @ the hospital (best place to have one I suppose). He's only 53 and in very good shape, but he has a family history of heart problems (father died in his 40's). Then I get an e-mail yesterday from my High School group (reconnected on Facebook) and one of our class members died of a heart attack (50 yrs. old!) Don't know anything about the HS member's health.

My brother-in-law is doing fine and will be able to go home today. It just gets you thinking about how important it is to maintain a healthly lifestyle. Even though my brother-in-law had an attack so young, I believe the fact that he maintained a healthy lifestyle is the reason he is going home (feeling pretty good since they cleared a double blockage). Anyway - take care of your body - it's the only one you got!!

Yes we really do have to look after our self and I think go to the doctors for a check up every 6mths. All the best to your family.

Size 10!!

Thursday, February 24, 2011

I weighed in @ WW last night and lost .6. I am 4.4 lb.s away from my goal of 46.6 lbs.!! It's going a little slower than I would like, but hey, I'll take it. Less than 5 lbs. !! I wanted to be @ goal weight by 3/16, but I'm not going to focus on that date. I'll be ready for Spring! I went shopping last night and I can wear a size 10! I haven't worn that size since before I was married. It was a good feeling.

Awesome!! Such a wonderful thing to celebrate! I swear, the scale is definitely a great tool for goal-setting and accountability, but I still think that there is no better feeling that fitting into that awesome size we were shooting for! No number on the scale feels that good! That is pretty much the best feeling ever! Go you!!! :-)

I have a name for the size that I love the most - it's my "holy grail jeans" size. If I can fit in those, I know I'm golden! Regardless of what the scale says, those never fail to make my day! :-)

Good job and keep it up! You're a rockstar!

Goal Weight - Nothing to Wear!

Wednesday, February 23, 2011

I haven't blogged in a while and a lot has happened. I joined WW back in September and have lost 35.6 lbs. I find the weekly weigh in my motivation. I haven't missed a weigh in and have only had 1 gain (.4) in five months. I'm 5 lbs. away from my goal and I want to reach it by mid-March so I can buy some new Spring clothes. I officially have nothing to wear! I've cleaned out the closet and bagged everything up for the kidney foundtion. I've only got a couple of pairs of pants/shirts to get me through February and then I'm going shopping!

Good luck to me tonight for my weekly weigh-in!

Thanks! I have a 30% off coupon for Kohl's so I might even go tonight after my WW meeting. I live in GA so it's getting warm here. We probably only have about 2-3 weeks of cold weather!

Here's to Spring!

Thursday, February 26, 2009

O.K., so February is almost over and instead of the 10 lbs. I had hoped to loose by the end of February, it's 7 lb.s Not bad considering how inconsistent I am. I'm good through the week and there's just something about the weekend! I know it's because I'm busy running around and I don't have my set time to eat breakfast before I leave for work and I don't have my little packed lunch ready for me like I do at work and then by the time Friday nights runs around, we're exhausted and don't want to cook anything so frozen pizza sounds good. Oh and how about a bowl of ice cream or maybe some popcorn to watch the family moive. Saturday morning the girls want homemade pancakes or waffles and then I add blueberries and they're so yummy and then finally after all the basketball games, softball practice, etc. we're back home so let's have frozen pizza again! You get the picture. It's a bunch of excuses, but it's reality. So, I'm going to keep up the good work during the week and do the best I can during the weekends. Spring & Summer bring a lot more opportunities and desirable (to me) exercise so here's to Spring! emoticon

Not Enough Calories?

Thursday, February 12, 2009

Week 4 started with my "new beginning" and I gained a lb. I was laying in bed last night and was actually hungry. I counted up the calories in my head and figured I had only about 1,000 calories. The weight gain could be that or my exercising still isn't up to par. I'm going to start recording my calories again and keep them around 1,300.
