Happy Closet Moment

Thursday, November 10, 2011

Had a spare moment this morning getting ready for work. Went to the back of the closet, you know the part where you store the off season and wrong size clothes. Pulled out a pair of pants I wore before the hysterectomy that made me gain 30 pounds. Thought I would see how I was doing. You know how far I had left to go. I had to make room in the "I can wear these" part of my closet. Because those pants fit me just nice.

Good for you Carmen. emoticon I had one of those moments too as a matter of fact. I decided to test the size 10 skirt that I haven't worn in Lord knows how long. Well, I am proud to say that I am wearing said skirt right now at work.

Just goes to show how little the scale really has to do with our success or accomplishments. The real victory is the clothes that we have banished to the far recesses of our closets seeing the light of day again!

Yay!! That is the best feeling!! Before long you will be taking out of your closet I can "no longer" wear these because they are too big and replacing them with all the clothes in your wrong size space. You will feel like you have a whole new wardrobe. Your wrong size clothes space will be bare. Darn, you will just have to go shopping. LOL

Enjoy Enjoy Enjoy.. it is your reward for all your hard work.

Happy Thursday,
Jan

Wednesday November 9

Wednesday, November 09, 2011

Here we are at another weigh in day.
The scale was kind today. Weight was lost.
I have left the 150's and I hope to never return again. I hope I have learned enough this time that the scale never says that kind of number again.

Recap of the week past. Maybe not. Living in the past is not wise. Learning from the past is good though.
So what can I learn from this past week?
I'm glad its in the past.
It was rough. Too much going on.
I think I let it all get to me. I didn't lean on God and give to Him. Looking back I can see that I tried to carry it all myself. That was not wise.
Where is it that He tells us to give Him all our worries and cares? Well, I guess I didn't do that very well. Tried to just be the strong one for everybody else, again.
Seems to be where I go wrong all the time. Forgetting that I don't have to be the strong one. That God is the strong one, not me. I am working on making my muscles and my body stronger, but I have to remember that I have to lean on God, He is the strong on, not me.

    Carmen,

Oh so true. We often times try way too hard to carry loads that weren't meant for us to bear. It is often when I have reached my breaking point that I reach out to God and ask Him to carry my load. If I never pick it up in the first place, wouldn't that be easier.

Great lessons learned about being WEAK for God so that HE can be strong for YOU!

Have a great rest of the week honey and congrats on dropping more poundage from your new fit body. YOU ROCK!

    Good morning Carmen.

I am so happy for you that you have kicked the 150s to the curb.

Where is it that He tells us to give Him all our worries and cares? The first scripture that comes to mind is Psalm 55:22 - "Cast thy burden upon the LORD, and he shall sustain thee: he shall never suffer the righteous to be moved."

That's from the KJV. Another is 1 Peter 5:7, "Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you." Also from the KJV.

Both are excellent scriptures to memorize and recall when you need a reminder that this is not your home. He wants you to remember that He can handle all you are trying to juggle every day. All you can do is your best and after that, crawl up into the arms that will always keep you from falling. But He won't do that unless you make an effort to crawl up there on your own. He won't take care of things you won't let go of. Submit. Obey. Be free.

Iove you,
Sunny

Weekly weigh in

Wednesday, November 02, 2011

What!?!
Ok remember goal #4
I know my weight fluctuates - I know it can even changes up to 2 pounds within one day.
I will not let this number change my outlook on this day.
I did some good exercise yesterday. I did my strength training even though the personal trainer was absent. He sent me the routine via email so I did it, alone. No one else turned up for the class.
I went home and took my two youngest kids (8 and 11) for a walk. They had their homework done, it was lovely outside so went went for a walk. They can't walk as fast as I can so every so often we did "high knee ups" from one mail box to the next, then kick backs to the next mail box. Then they had to run up two mail boxes, back one, then catch me. I can't run because of my knees. We did 1.25 miles before dinner.
I did weigh myself three days in a row, which is not ideal.
So I know next week will look better.

I absolutely LOVE that you are teaching your kids how important it is to work in some daily exercise and the vision I have in my head of all of you doing the knees-up routine from mailbox to mailbox is just so sweet.

BEVMOSS is absolutely right. Weigh because it is required but only compare your weight from month to month! That is what I am doing because fluctuations for one reason or another can make you feel less happy about all the good things you know you are doing.

Don't get down about this. You are in such a good place right now. You can't be surprised you are being attacked. This is spiritual warfare at its finest. Don't give an inch! You are doing GREAT!!!!

I only compare my daily weigh-in with my weight from the exact day of the month before. It's very encouraging and also compensates for "time of the month" stuff. Keep up the good work. emoticon

November Goals

Tuesday, November 01, 2011

Goals for November
1-consistent exercise
2-watch food intake (portion sizes and make sure I eat enough)
3-reach out - encourage others and let others encourage me
4-lose 5 pounds - but don't be so focused on pounds that I beat myself up for weight fluctuations
5-enjoy the journey - don't be so focused on the long term goal that I miss today

Great goals Carmen. I think it is important to have goals to lose, but often we get too focused on the scale and lose sight of the BIG picture. So, way to keep yourself in check. It is all about fun, fitness, and friendship. So, let's ROCK November.

Lessons learned in the end of October 2011

Monday, October 31, 2011

Well, I didn't hit my goal weight for October, but I did learn some good lessons in October and I made some new friends.

I stepped out of my comfort zone and received some really needed support. I was/am wonderfully surprised that people out in cyber land are so very supportive of me. I have needed that support for so long and have been looking for that support and it was here all along. I just needed to reach out.
Thank you to all you wonderful lovely people. I am reaching out my cyber arms and giving you all a great big cyber hug for the wonderful week you have all given me. I had to take the first step and reach out but when I did you were all there so helpful, supportive and caring. So much of what I needed and had been looking for.
I think from what I have been learning and the support I have been receiving, November looks like it will be a great month.
My plan is to blog tomorrow my goals for November - look out November here I come.
