The following conversation just occurred and it all started with Boss61 .....
**ring ring**
hello?
Are you at work?
yes.
Oh, ok. I will be quick. do you have a minute?
yes, quickly. I am just sitting here drinking my sparky water.
Sparky water, what is that?
Water to help you lose weight.
really? where did you get it?
** laugh** it is water for spark people.
What? spark people? who is that?
it is a website for losing weight and everyone who goes there is a spark person.
Oh. how much does it cost?
Nothing.
so, where do you get this sparky water?
**laugh** Betty, it is just water. if you drink water instead of other stuff, it should help you to lose weight.
Oh. I guess so.

ok, so I wasn't whistling while clinging to trees 15 feet off the ground but I was working. It was the annual set up for summer camping where I go in PA. I was climbing ladders and stringing tarps, putting together plastic shelving for the camp kitchen, setting up lantern hangers along the forest path and clearing away of poison ivy and fallen debris.
before that even started, I cleaned, swept and waterproofed the camping platform. I camp on the side of a hill on a wooden platform which is ground level on one side and then there is an 8 foot drop on the other side.
Since I do not partake in this type of physical labor everyday, my body is sore and I went to bed early last night. Today I will be taking it a bit easier.
The question is how does one log this type of exercise into the tracker?

I have belonged to three gyms in the part several years and have only really enjoyed one of them, The Racquet and Fitness club. It is a really nice place with a pool, a juice bar, sauna and whirlpools, fully stocked lockers (soap, shampoo, single use makeup, hair dryers, etc.) and members that were really friendly. I left there to join a gym with a comparable price but much closer to home. The racquet club is about 15 miles one way and the other is only 3.5 miles and this was basically my only reason for wanting to switch.
The new one advertised water aerobics and yoga but that never materialized. Their pool was outside although the grand opening promised an inside pool and the members were generally rude esp. in the pool area. I am not a power swimmer but I do some laps and will use a kick board to work both my legs and upper body. I ended up being banned from the pool for interfering with other members workouts but what about mine. In addition, I had to take everything with me: towels, shampoo, soap, etc. So, I canceled and trust me when I say that the exit interview they insisted I have was not altogether a happy one.
Then curves came to town and I would rush there before closing to do the circuit. I kept it up for about 6 months but I was getting bored with the same thing and I wasn't losing weight. So, once again, I canceled my membership.
Then planet Fitness shows up and I tried it however, the bored factor set in quickly and I stopped going. All I ever did was walk on the treadmill so, to avoid paying for something that I didn't use; I canceled my membership. I tried to walk around my neighborhood but that did not last very long either. I just can't seem to keep motivated by myself.
I have a gazelle at home that I use regularly but I just have not been seeing any weight lose results with it. I would think that 1/2 hour a day would do something.
Now there is a brand new LA Fitness at most 1 mile from my house. I looked at the website and they have a pool, swim aerobics, and spinning. All low impact exercises that I need because of bad knees plus a spa and sauna. I am tempted to join but also somewhat afraid that my pool experience will be bad.
I guess a tour of the place would not hurt.
