I am working on small changes to better my health. One that I really struggle with is cutting back on sugar. Today, I am trying my best to avoid all of the holiday sugar in my office. I allowed myself one cookie, but am working hard to leave the rest alone.
In an effort to do anything to take my mine off the cookies, I looked up my horoscope for today. It really hit home with me: You made a promise to yourself quite some time ago. (Yes, years ago and every year since) Since then, you have probably thought a lot about that promise, but you haven't done very much to see it through to fruition. (Not much, just a little here and there) But it's not too late. (Thank goodness!) Don't let yourself down. Your intentions are pure and they are good, and what you intend is meant to improve your life in some way. (It will improve it in many ways) Lately you have been thinking a lot more about that long-ago promise and you are seeing in almost wistfully. ( I think about it all the time) But if you make it more of a reality and a priority now, you can make it happen. (I am working hard to make it a reality and a priority, that's why I'm on Sparkpeople!)
This passage speaks directly to my weight loss/better health goals. It certainly feels like it was meant to be today and on my blog felt like a great place to record it.

I am starting a new streak today! I thought about writing this blog this morning and now when I got on to Sparkpeople to do it realized what my last blog was about.
On May 1st, I commited to doing Coach Nicole's workout. Well, needless to say that streak didn't last very long. I made a goal of doing it but failed to plan when I was going to do it. I have been struggling with how to fit exercise in. I felt a little down when I looked at that blog, yet again another failed attempt. Except, I quickly changed me thinking. That goal, taught me what I needed in my future goals, planning!
After reading the Spark Solution, which is fabulous!, I am really making healthy changes to my life. Also, I recently took a training at work about the 5 Choices of Extraordinary Productivity from Franklin Covey. Both of these have lead me to look at when I can plan for exercise in my life. This leads me to my first streak! Exercise in the morning!
My plan is to move some of my morning duties: making lunches, getting clothes together to the evening. This will free up my mornings and I will get up 5 minutes earlier and exercise.
Plan in place. Today is Day 1!

Here are my goals for May:
1. Do Coach Nicole's 28 Day challenge. Day 2 and things are good.
2. Check in on Spark Coach everyday.
Also, I am super excited for the new spark book to come out next week. I will be reading that right away and working on that.

My weigh in days are Wednesday mornings. I'm not sure why, but Wednesday's work for me. It was the day I went to Weight Watchers for weigh in's, a long time ago and it has always stuck. Now it is the day that I record my weight for a weight loss contest at work. Wednesday's are my day.
I will blog next week about my Wednesday!
