I can't wait to start this challenge although I am late posting this. I think I am posting this in the correct place.
My plans for this challenge are:
Try to drink more water
Try to track everything
Try to avoid carbs
Try to work out more
Try to enjoy this journey
Try to post more often
The reason I say "Try" is that I know I am not perfect. But i will give it my best shot. With the holidays coming up and having 1 party this coming weekend, the first weigh in day for the challenge, and four parties next week, the 8, 9, 10 and 11th, it will be so hard, but I will try to be accountable and try to be on this website more often.

I love tennis. I wish I had started playing back in high school. But I waited until my late 40's to begin. It took a long time to learn the game. I have taken numerous lessons. They tell me that I have to learn to slow down, be consistent, move your feet, keep your eye on the ball, and keep hydrated. I play as much as four days a week and would play more if I did not have to work the other three.
It just occurred to me that these lessons can be applied to weight loss as well. Losing weight slowly is a good thing, you must be consistent with logging food, you have to move your feet every day, keep your eye on the prize, and drink plenty of water.
It is funny how one part of your life can be so closely related to another. I will continue to take tennis lessons to improve my game. Just like I will continue to log into Sparkpeople to learn how to lose weight. And when I lose weight, I will meet two goals...the weight loss, and a better tennis game because I will be lighter on my feet!

So, I changed my picture, but it came out sideways. So I changed it again to the dress that is in the background, thinking this will give me more incentive if I look at it every time I posted. But the dress did not stick. The sideways picture did though. So every time I post, this sideways picture comes up. I figure this must be telling me something. Maybe I am sideways! Maybe I need some straightening out.
I am back on track, at least I have been for the last 5 days. I hope to continue and be consistent because I know if I am not, I will end up back or worst than where I was. I can feel the changes and I do like them so far. The changes are in the way I feel. Surprisingly, my clothes seem tighter. I hope I dropped a couple of pounds come weigh in on Saturday. If not, I will need some serious self talk to keep me in line.
So sideways I will remain until this current challenge is over. Then I will figure this out and get an even better picture to show.

Today's assignment is to list all the reasons you want to lose weight. What do you want to change? How do you want to look? How do you want to feel? What things will you be able to do in the future with a slimmer healthier body? And list all the OTHER things that you want to change!
The reasons I want to lose weight are, first and foremost, to be healthier. Having extra weight is not good for my organs or other internal parts of me. Secondly, I do want to look better and fit into some of those cute clothes that I have just waiting to be worn in my closet. I really want to gain some additional self esteem as well. This will make me feel better about myself. I also know that I will feel better all over if I drop this extra baggage. When the weight is gone, I will be able to play tennis much better as I will be lighter on my feet. I will also be able to do other things much easier, like paint my toe nails. It is kind of tough getting down there with a big belly! The only other thing I would like to see change is my energy level. I want it to go up, up, up. I know this comes with eating healthier as I have seen it happen many times before. I would like to change my eating habits for good. No more binging when I am alone, or at least if I did binge, it would be on healthy slices of zucchini or nice stalks of crunchy celery.
So, hopefully Assignment #3 has been completed satisfactorily. I am really into this challenge and it hasn't even started yet!

I will exercise at least 6 days a week for a minimum of 30 minutes for the 56 days of the challenge.
I will follow my Gluten Free Eating Plan and enter my foods into the food tracker daily.
I will check in with my team daily and leave a comment on the Discussion Board when time permits. I will read and comment on blogs as much as possible.
