4.19.12-Take 2

Thursday, April 19, 2012

Did a 2 mile walk/run today right when I got home from work, so I didn't do any snacking! 2 days in a row of not immediately hitting the kitchen after work!
I also bought some muscle milk powder (recommended by my dad and okayed by my nutritionist). I'm excited to finally start getting enough protein! I plan to add it to my oatmeal in the morning and to smoothies after workouts.

So far, so good. I guess I can check off 'make a blog of this list' as long as I keep it updated on here!

First Blog Post

Tuesday, April 17, 2012

Well this is my first blog post. I enjoy reading other peoples blogs on sparkpeople, so I'm not sure why it took me so long to start my own.
Not too much happened today. I brought my running clothes with me to work so I would go directly to the park and run. And I kind of ran. I was planning on doing 3 minutes of walking, 2 minutes of running the whole time. I definitely felt like I was dying and didn't do the full 2 minutes each time. I definitely need to work on that. I had initially planned on doing some strength training exercises today, but I'm still not feeling well today.
On a happier note, I didn't snack a lot when I got home (usually my major downfall). I ate some carrots with a cream cheese dip and made brussel sprouts and mashed cauliflower for dinner.

Well I definitely shouldn't quit my day job and become a writer. Hopefully these will get more interesting as I write more often.

I'm following the intermediate level 5 weeks to 5K program on sparkpeople. I had to modify the first 2 weeks, because I only have 4 weeks until my 5K (3 weeks left).
I am also excited that people have already commented!

Are you following any kind of running plan? There are some awesome plans on here that will take you from where you are now to being a runner. Don't get frustrated that you can't start out running a 5K or anything. Progress is everything :)
