Run program - week 3 progress

Well, I will hand this to Galloway - you have to pay attention!
I have gotten lost in the seconds breakdown a few times, either running or walking longer then prescribed.
All in all, it seems good - I upped my speed on the long hauls, but perhaps too much - my arches were killing me on last weeks long run - only 2 miles - I have done this without much trouble not too long ago - perhaps I was just out of sync that day - This week is proving hard - I have events almost every day this week - which is keeping me from the gym! I will make sure I hit at least the three runs needed - it just may be on off days.
I have been doing smaller strength based things throughout the day on my event days - not cardio (though I walk on my breaks at work) but some movement and potential strengthening. (cross fingers).

Busy, busy this week!

    It's hard to fit in workouts when we're so busy. Good for you for trying to get what you can into the day.

Have you heard of PiYo? It's a pilates-yoga workout. I started doing it before bed, after putting my son down for the night. As a runner, I benefit from the stretch and focus on arms and core--muscles us runners forget to condition.

Message me if you want more information. I'm thinking of starting a PiYo Challenge group in Septemeber. Let me know if you're interested.

New running program

Just looked into Run Disney – and they Galloway method – which I am planning to start as a new 10K process. I am hoping this will be a good choice, since my new phone does not like the old app I was using.

Anyone tried this already?
What were your feelings?


Down and out

Whew! Just getting back into it - after some tripping (and not getting to Spark) then my laptop died (still dead, using PC at work), then two and half weeks of pneumonia - I am back. I gained some pounds back (grr) and am hitting the gym again. Thank goodness my clothes still fit anyway.

I have even started working with a health coach (through work) and am keeping myself accountable.

Slow and steady, slow and steady.....

Poll - of sorts

I was at the gym last night - getting some weight training in - and was circling, and being circled, by a group - 4 men and a woman - who seemed to be helping/training each other on the machines near me.

Now, I ensure to clean my face and take off my makeup before I go to the gym. I am here to get something done, not to be cute (not that I can help it lol). I feel this is the best for my skin and will keep me from looking like something that was caught in the rain when I am done.

This woman, though, had the thickest, longest false eyelashes on - with hair done up and cute very fitted clothes on - while working out.
Here eyes were smaller, might have been really pretty, but I could not see her eye through the wings that were attached to her face. It looked really weird.

So the poll - Ladies - do you take your make up off before you get your workout on?

  I don't wear much make-up in general, but sometimes I wear a little on my eyes… One time I forgot to take it off before a workout and with all the perspiration it ended up IN my eyes-- ouch! Now I make sure to take it off.

    Ha! There is NO WAY I would wear make up at the gym. I would resemble a racoon when I got done. I go before work so I just roll out of bed and into my work out clothes. My trainer has only seen me sans make up and hair pulled up. :-)

Back in the game

I am back in it!

Last Tuesday I was able to mostly run the group run trail with my group at work - I did it twice - for about 4 miles. (Woo!)
Then Thursday I ran my training - on an incline program (that's new)
And this weekend Hubby and I biked to lunch - about 4.5 miles

Tonight I am planning to run with my office group - see what kind of movement I can get going. I am also planning for an early Thrusday run as we will be visiting my MIL and won't have access to the gym.

That should space it out about right and keep me moving!
