New Goal for 2014

Friday, January 03, 2014

I've been doing very well since coming back to Spark 6 weeks ago and just decided that a goal that I really want to accomplish that I hadn't thought of previously was to be able to wear my white and my pink capri jeans by May that were new the year I reached goal before but haven't been able to wear the last several years! After that I have several other smaller outfits that my husband wanted me to buy that year that have been just sitting in my closet looking beautiful and yearning to be worn, that I really want to be able to get back into some time this year.
My main priority is still getting healthy again, but that new clothes goal will definitely help inspire me! I might even take out those cute pink jeans and hang them somewhere visible daily and try them on at least once a month to see how much closer to my goal I'm getting!
We can do this!!! emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon

Since coming back to Spark in the Fall I have used clothing as a motivator ( 2 dresses). My current goal is to fit into a pair of Jeans that I bought after losing weight last time. When I started this goal I could barely get my legs into the calf area. Yesterday I was able to pull them all the way up but not zip them. The scale going down is motivating but I know when I zip those jeans I will have accomplished something.

I've been known to hang desired pieces of clothing up in the kitchen to help with my will power. My kids used to joke with me about it. It worked, but for some reason I forgot about this tactic. I may be time to bring this back! Thanks for the reminder. And good luck! emoticon

You're right- You are doing an awesome job! I am right here with you! I have SEVERAL pairs of jeans and some really cute shirts that I would love to wear, but there they are, hanging in my closet!

I bought a pair of jeans last Monday, actually, with them fitting snug. I told myself and my friend that I will use them as motivation! That I will try them on once every 2 weeks or once a month(haven't decided yet).

Let's continue to do this together! It will be great once we achieve it, right? Let's Do This! emoticon emoticon emoticon

Cheryl ~ you are doing great! Somehow clothes always find their way into my goal... lol When I joined spark years ago it was my capris for me. Then I gained about 20 back. My first short term goal is too fit into my jeans comfortable again. We WILL do it!! emoticon

First blog about first week back and loving it

Sunday, November 24, 2013

I finally came back to Spark and waited way too long to do this! I had a huge weight gain from where I had gotten down to when I was active here several years ago and my health was declining after I had gotten into great shape last time so I am really determined to stick with this and not backslide like that ever again!
It's been a great week here- I went from probably less than 2,000 steps a day for several months to 4,000/5,000/8,000/9,000 and hopefully 10,000 today! I have tracked all my food and stayed in range faithfully (haven't gotten to 8 cups of water though yet, but close) and I have gotten back to all my old teams and friends and even a new team. The great rewsult of this week was a 3 1/2 pound weight loss! My mood is much happier and I am more motivated today than I was the day I decided to come back. I know I can do this and I really appreciate all the help and encouragement everyone gives here. Hopefully I can keep a regular blog going here with great updates!

I know all about losing and gaining it back. We can just think of it as a preview, and get back to work. We needed more time to be able to make it permanent. We can do this! Continue to believe in yourself! emoticon

The step challenge the the Grandmother's Fitness Club started in September seems to have motivated several of us to do more. Glad you joined us in it.

Recap of July dAccomplishments

Tuesday, July 31, 2012

End of June these were my blog goals for the next 10 weeks which are more than half over-
1. Cut back to almost none of cookies, cake, pie, ice cream, candy, chips or other high fat and little nutrition foods. I would like to say have none of these but I don't think I can be successful with that for the whole challenge.
2. Up my veggies and fruits to more than 5 a day and try to substitute these when I'm tempted to have the foods from #1
3. See my doctor and have a complete physical which I have been putting off because of my weight gain!
4. Get my blood work that's overdo done (maybe thyroid is out of whack again)
5. See my dentist which is also overdo
6. Get a mammogram which is also overdo
7. Continue to aim for 10,000 steps a day and do my strength training
8. Continue to track here on spark and participate actively on teams
9. Get enough sleep every day - even if I have to add a daytime nap
10.Drink more water and try to gradually cut out coffee
For #1 I have pretty much cut out cookies, pie, & candy and cut back on chips and cake but I still really like to have that ice cream!
#2 Always over 5 on the fruits and veggies now
#3 Will be seeing my doctor next week!
#4Bloodwork done and need to work on cholesterol levels!
#5Had teeth cleaned and full x-rays which led to unexpected oral surgery!!
#6 mammogram done and fine
#7steps have picked up but not at 10,000 a day yet
#8track and active on spark!
#9getting enough sleep even if it means an afternoon nap
#10still too much coffee!
Somewhat successful but keeping at it in August!!!!!

"Today, I promise I will not quit.

I pledge that no matter, how many ups and downs I pass through, I will continue on my journey.

I pledge to make a NEW START today, and forgive myself for my past, and to stop being so critical of myself.

White Tiger Ultimation

Monday, June 18, 2012

I am determined to stick with my health plan better on this challenge and lose my 20 pounds! My husband just had a near-death experience from a bad reaction to a bee sting and hopefully that will keep me motivated also to get healthier again. My plan for success this challenge is-
There are so many things that I could add to this list but these are the 10 most important at this point. I know I can do this - I just have to stay motivated!!
