I feel like crying...

Tuesday, August 09, 2011

Well i finally got a new mattress! Been having problems sleeping and mostly was because my mattress is old and i so needed a new one.. and if you all didnt see i fell last week and i am so sore as well. So last weekend we went out and checked on mattresses and prices.. laying on a lot.. and i so needed a softer one.. and one place a guy told us what to look for and all. Which really helped.. but with not a lot of money.. they had a sale at Costco and we ended up with a queen set from there.. and at first i thought it was going to be a good one.. but after sleeping it on last night it isnt as good as i thought.. its a hard cheap mattress .. not really cheap.. 500 but still not as soft and i know i am going to have a hard time sleeping every night.. what can i do?? nothing cause i gave my old set away to my granddaughter .. i could have used the old box spring and just get another good mattress but that is gone now so what can i do?? nothing.. i cant complain.. its like having bad shoes.. you can tell the difference and bad shoes you dont feel good walking or running.. so will hang in there and maybe one day get a good topper for it..

I sincerely hope it all works out well for you. My parents once bought a mattress and had a similar problem. Try talking to the company, and also see if there are any mattress covers that bring the mattress up to your comfort level. They even sell memory foam mattress covers that are as thick or thin as desires in many cases. Good luck, and hope it works.

Thanks everyone ! I returned the bed and went to another ace and got a bed. It's much softer and will work out great. ! I looked online all morning for toppers but would just be too hard to decide which kind to get. Thanks for all good advice. Really appreciate it !!!!

I agree with the others. First talk to Costco about a return. If that doesn't work get a foam topper that is at least 3 inches. They really do make a difference!

If you can't return/exchange the mattress, why not consider doing what I did for years (with fibromyalgia I'm like that princess who can't cope with the pea that was placed under the pile of mattresses upon which she tried to sleep!).

One word sums up a suggestion: layers!
If you can afford one, get a THICK topper. I had done that but had also put a 2-inch foam thing (not the egg-crate type, but a denser foam with weird lines) down first. Then I put on a mattress pad a size too large for the now awfully-thick mattress and toppers. Used sheets for extra thick mattresses and that sort of firmed it all up but made the sleeping much more comfortable.

I but things at Costco all the time so that I can try them out and return them. They realize that. You wouldn't believe the stories of people returning things 7 years after they bought them. It is a pain but go shopping today for a new mattress. Maybe a pillow top - spend more money. Try sleep number bed too. I paid $600 for a twin for my daughter and she loves it but it was a pillow top. Then if things get really bad, you can buy the memory foam topper to revitalize it. I have used those on two beds. Good luck.

Costco is really good about taking things back....(except electronics, but they even give you 90 days for them). I'd take the set back! Hope all works out well.....sorry to hear about your fall....hope you're feeling better!! emoticon

I'd ck with Costco about returning it before continuing sleeping on a mattress that you're not comfortable on.

That's what I was going to say you need a mattress top I bought a cheep set and ended up buying a nice mattress topper and it really helped. Good luck and next time remember you get what you pay for, I learned it the hard way as well.

Havent done a Blog in awhile..

Friday, July 08, 2011

Haven't had time or just haven't wanted to do a blog.. now its time..
I finally had to admit to myself i have gained a little weight.. not a lot but a bit.. and of course it first goes to stomach or waist and that the worst place for me. I went to the mall the other day.. trying on clothes and realizing yes i have gained a little and i cant just put on a L or sometimes XL and feel like its my size.. so finally realizing it i have been doing so much better with food and back to exercising a bit more .. i have exwercised but now i am doing treadmill more.. making it more intense..
I know i slowly let bad food back in my diet, thinking i would never gain back.. but i was kidding myself and not really being truthful . So now i tell myself you can have things once in awhile but never to over do it..!
And the best thing my husband is helping much more.. we are going to start going to the mall to walk it.. running up escalators too! as many times as we can,.and ride bikes in the am when its cool.. so with his help i know i will get back to where i was and will feel much better..!
It is mind over matter and realizing you have to make the difference every day,.

You will lose the weight again in no time. You are such an inspiration. You have exercised so much and I am sure you are in great shape. Whenever I gain a pound, it is also right at my waistline! Happy to hear you and your hubby are exercising together. emoticon

emoticon Geri, you are right where you need to be. And kudos to hubby who is helping you. We may take a step back but if you realize it and act, you are just where the normal weight population is. Their weight fluctuates and they act. I am envious that you can run up stairs. You go girl!

I really think i need to rethink portion control!~

Wednesday, February 23, 2011

I think since holidays i haven't been doing good on portion control. Now rethinking it and eating much less,i am finally losing! With exercise and keeping so busy its just what i needed. I think even if you lose all the weight you want you always are in this journey of learning and growing and trying to do whats right so you can keep weight off. I still have weight to take off but i am on my way and feeling awesome about it.The hardest thing and always will be .. is sweets, chocolate ! I really wished there was this magic pill or something that could get me to stop craving it. But i am trying to over come.. one day at a time! Thanks for all my good friends who stop by to say hi and are still here.. i am here for you!

Nothing better than chocolate and we all have our triggers. i can't have those skinny type ice cream bars in my freezer because I can't eat just one! You are doing great.

    I love chocolate too.

Trader Joe's has Dark Chocolate Wedges (like a cut-up pie), where the serving size is 2 wedges, at 70 calories. It's so rich, usually I don't even eat 2 wedges.

Also Jello has a Chocolate Mousse in the dairy case that is so good it's making me consider giving up ice cream. It's 60 calories and feels totally indulgent.

Best wishes!!

That's my problem too! Portions that are to big that I have always thought were the right size portions. Breaking that habit is really hard. Congrats! emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon

The best thing is it works upper body too.. cause arms move.. it makes me feel so good.. i can finally get back to where i was and lose.. which i am slowly doing.. so things do happen.. just takes time.
Would you believe the bike just cost me 15 dollars .!? woohoo.. i am so happy!!

Good for you. Do you think the bike is as good as plain old walking? My hubby made me buy him a bike last year. Its just sitting there gathering dust. I walk, but my feet have really started telling me enough already. I've been thinking I might trade some walking minutes for the bike. But will it be the same?
