Sometimes its hard to stop!Friday, September 25, 2009
I have made exercising and all a habit, which i am so glad i did but sometimes its hard to stop. Especially when i am not feeling my best . I still want to exercise... do that yard work.. its hard for me to sit still and rest and take care of myself. I am still working on that. I dont want to be obsessive about it.. just dont want to tell myself its ok not to exercise. and i was like that before, after i lost all my weight. So now i am feeling a bit sore and tired and my husband says its because of the fall i had on monday, and he wants me to rest and take care of me.. But there is things to do.. and i know he works so hard much more than i do.. and i want to help.. so i am resting some today so many can do more on weekend.. ![]()

Take care of youself. That is priority #1. It took awhile to add pounds, as it did to take it off. Now that you are there, a day of relaxing isn't going to hurt. Hope you are feeling better soon. Report Inappropriate Comment |

I can understand the being a bit obsessive about not giving exercise a break. I don't know if you are like me that way, but in the back of my mind I feel if I don't exercise, that might be the day that whatever clicked when I started this journey will click off and I will stop doing it. I didn't take a break for 5 months, and now over the summer because of being busy I am learning it is ok to take a break, but I always know even that day, the trick is getting back to it ASAP! I don't let up on myself. If you had an injury though, you do need to make sure you don't hurt yourself further. Taking it a little easier than normal wouldn't be the worst thing till you know you are feeling your best. Congratulations on reaching your goal, you look great and I bet you feel great. Your body needs a rest from time to time! Give yourself a break and you'll be in much better shape to continue!

I know exactly how it is...I have a hard time sitting still and on my appointed day of rest, I always feel guilty. However, people do deserve a break now and then so ENJOY!

Oh momma. Daddy is right.. you need to slow down and take care of yourself. the world wont stop because you take a breather. its good to let your body rest sometimes... you need to do that before you get sick.. just like you tell me.. take it easy momma rest a bit.. its going to be a busy week and need you nice and healthy. i love you momma.. be good to yourself!! You know when you get to your goal you think you dont have to exercise as much,. cause you think your still going to keep off the weight.. which i have but realized i better up it a little and dont do things just cause they are easy. Which i was.. swimming was easy but didnt really give me a good work out as i know other exercises could.. and besides cant swim with pool not cleaned and all.. so kinda forced me to get back on treadmill more and now i am doing exercise shows i taped on daughters tv.. which really is giving me a good work out.. so i am back to taking care of me again and sleeping better and and dealing with stress better too! so even when i am busy i am going to keep it up and keep it going.
There is nothing like a good work out to keep in touch with your body and feel awesome!

Good Job Geri! I understand what your saying. We associate exercise with weight loss so it makes sense that it gets taken off the priority list once you've reached your goal. I know I did that in the past and I put back on everything plus extra. So I'm glad to hear that your back on the path cause there are so many other benefits to exercise too. You are right! I know that I sleep better when I've exercised during the day. If I play at exercise and try to do a little less, I do not feel the same. So I try to stay active and walk as much as I can, walk up and down the basement steps at least 10 times a day and do my strength exercises. Every little bit helps! Report Inappropriate Comment |

I think you are right on track - exercise is key to a healthy lifestyle for many reasons. It will be a big challenge for me.
