Fibromyalgia facts

Thursday, October 28, 2010

"If you know someone who has Fibro, offer them your support, your love and prayers. It is as real as cancer and diabetes, etc. It is deceiving for the people with Fibro does not look like anything is wrong but they are in pain everyday. I have it and I am asking for more research to be done. We need help also."
My friend Miranda posted this words on FB recently and she is just right. We need help and understanding. We need people to stop ignoring this condition. We need a cure and we need it soon.
Fibromyalgia changes your life, your emotions, your point of view about everything. It kills your dreams and it isolates you from friends and family. It's invisible but all so real. Can you believe that many people atribute the symptoms to the excess weight? Can you imagine what it is like to hear your loved ones say that it's only in your mind? Could you smile if you are ALWAYS in pain, day after day??? Some people don't even know what it is.
It's a daily battleship but it can also be a daily victory. I fight, and kick and scream everyday because I have to be alive and well.

I know several people with Fibro & none of them need to lose weight. Weight is the least of their worries; I'd say joint pain, hair loss, etc. would be their top problems. While I don't have Fibro, I'm no stranger to auto-immune disorders myself, so I have empathy for those with chronic health issues.! Hopefully, researchers will find a cure, or a least medications for better control of it. Blessings on you all!! emoticon emoticon emoticon

My mother and grandmother both suffer from this. And pain killers don't work all. My best to your friend with this daily battle. emoticon
