Wow, I didn't realize how long it's been since I've blogged! I've been around, but life gets hectic and it's hard to post. I've been a member of Spark for over two years now and I haven't been perfect and like most of us I've fallen off the wagon a few times. However, I am proud to say that I've lost 40lbs and kept it off since being here!
I got a new job this past year and it's one of the reasons I haven't been keeping up with my blogging/tracking, but it's also been my excuse for not working out. I had a major wake up call a few weeks ago when I had to be taken to the ER and found out that I have gallstones and potentially need my gallbladder taken out. After meeting with the specialist I've been put on a super low fat diet to try to avoid having surgery. Prior to this I wasn't eating horribly, but I was putting more focus on my calories and carbs. I actually kind of like that I'm forced into this new nutrition plan, because I know if I eat something I shouldn't have I can potentially have a gallbladder attack. It's also been great because it keeps me away from fast food for good. I've been on this new nutrition plan for a few weeks now and I've already lost some weight.
The next major update in my life is.. I'M ENGAGED!! My boyfriend well now fiance proposed on Valentines Day. I was completely unprepared for it and it still feels weird to say that I'm engaged lol. Of course this is MAJOR motivation for me to get on the ball and start shedding more pounds! We haven't set a date yet, but we are thinking at least a year or two. He is still in school and will be graduating in May. A year or two gives me time to work on my weight loss goals and gives us time to save up money.
I also had a small victory yesterday. I have been in the horrible stage of my jeans being either too big and the next size down would be too small. Yesterday I put on the size down and they fit!! I can't tell you how amazing that felt!!
I have my new diet plan, my motivation, and now I'm ready to make that scale start moving again!!

One year ago I took the first steps towards a healthier lifestyle. Last year on August 1st I realized that I had, had enough. My weight was out of control, my eating habits were out of control, and the word exercise wasn't even in my vocabulary. On August 2nd I took one of the scariest steps a overweight person takes, joining a gym. I was going to be in my friends wedding in October and I got my dress and it wouldn't even zip. I knew if I didn't get myself in a gym I would never fit in my dress and I still be gaining more and more weight. I was scared to death to even drive over there, so my boyfriend drove me over for support. Walking in the door I was beyond nervous, but then a friendly face came over to greet me at the door. She was sweet and kind and she didn't make me feel bad for being overweight. She held my hand through the whole process and she then became my trainer. She's been super supportive over this entire process and she's the first person to cheer me on when I make progress towards my goals. I remember the first day she put me on the treadmill just for 20 minutes and I felt like I was going to die! It wasn't even on a high setting I was just so out of shape. Over this past year I've hits bumps here, there, and everywhere. I've made mistakes, I've eaten things here and there that I shouldn't have, and I've missed days exercising here and there. But guess what? I'm still here!!! We all hit bumps, but as long as you pull yourself up and you keep working hard you can do it! I still have a long way to go, but this year has helped me drop about 50lbs and I hope to drop twice as much next year!

Well, I haven't exactly been M.I.A. I've only been getting on Spark to log my workouts and foods. However, I have been a horrible blogger lately! I've been so busy with work and everything I just haven't had the time to sit down and write about everything. I have been doing pretty well though, still hitting the gym 4-5 times a week, still tracking everything, still drinking lots of water, and still down to one diet soda or less a week. I even was able to kick my lemonade problem. I switched to the light lemonade and now I've just stopped drinking them completely. I'm still doing the 100 day Challenge and I'm currently on day 45! I can't believe I'm almost halfway through the challenge! It's been such a helpful kick in the butt for me! Alright, I'm off to the gym, hope everyone is having a great week!! :)

So, yesterday was craaazy! We were planning on a family cookout with my boyfriend's family. When I got up yesterday it was completely dark and rainy out so pretty much everyone decided to bail on the whole cooking out thing. So, his mom called and asked if we were still planning on being there because she needed to get groceries. I figured we may as well go, because it's rare that he ever gets a Saturday off, plus he doesn't get a chance to visit his grandma very often. So, we said we'd go and just cook the same foods inside that we were going to cook outside, lol. So, we get there at like 2pm and I started cooking, because his mom just had knee surgery and she didn't need to be doing anymore than she already had. As soon as we start cooking and getting all the food ready it's pretty much completely cleared up outside and then everyone calls and decides they are coming after all! So, we have to trek back to the grocery store and buy more food for everyone. We ended up being there from like 2pm to like 8 or 9pm. It was like the longggest day ever, but it was nice that everyone ended up coming. We pretty much came home and went straight to bed, lol. And thankfully I didn't over eat, I had steak, corn on the cob, a deviled egg annd watermelon! I love watermelon!! All in all it was a good day, but today I need to get back to work. Hope everyone is having a good weekend!! :)
