Getting Through a Tough Situation

One month ago I received some unexpected, frightening news that will affect my entire family. I still don't know how it will all unfold, but in all honesty I haven't dealt very well with it. I know things will work out eventually, and that God is in control, but the not-knowing how it will play out is difficult.

How have I dealt? Crying a lot. And eating. I didn't realize how much my emotions turn me into an out-of-control beast. I've eaten just about every bad thing I could get my hands on. (Even when I've given myself pep talks to overcome!) It didn't help that my kids are active in sports right now, so we have been constantly on the go -- with Wendy's and McDonalds easily accessible. And my exercise plan? Ha! A regular workout left the day we received the news. Amazingly, I haven't gained but a couple pounds, but . . . I know it must stop NOW.

Tomorrow is a new day, and I love myself and my family enough to eat better, to live better. I feel stronger in just getting the words on the page. ;-)

  Prayers coming your way. So sorry about the news but, as you know, eating won't help and can hurt. Keep coming back, keep putting those feelings and thoughts in a blog and keep praying. I hope all turns out better than you can imagine but only time will tell. Remember the serenity prayer" God grant me the ability to change the things I can change, to accepot the things I can not, and the wisdom to know the difference".

    Getting off track just adds to your problems! I got a team called GOD ANSWERS PRAYER we pray for each other every day that we will draw closer to the Lord and make wise choices to help us lose weight. Life is tough we have to be tougher or get ran over. There is nothing to big for God to handle . My prayers are with you! emoticon

10 Reasons to Keep On Keepin' On

Some days I get very discouraged, but I know I've got to do this. To keep me motivated to keep at it, I've listed 10 reasons I need/want to keep trucking down the road of healthy living and weight loss.

1. That little, blue dress that I love so very much. I barely ever wore it, and now I can't fit into it. I MUST WEAR IT AGAIN.

2. My kids. I desperately desire to play with my kids without tiring so quickly.

3. Gotta keep that blood pressure down.

4. I love the way I feel when I'm losing weight and exercising regularly.

5. For my knees. Sometimes my knees hurt when I'm climbing steps or exercising. I really believe getting some weight off will help them.

6. I want my wonderful husband to be able to go out with a lady that at least resembles the girl he married. Of course, I'd like that lady to be ME!

7. Class & Family Reunions. Need I say more?

8. ENERGY!!!! Gotta have more!

9. I'm so tired of sliding down aisles in the grocery store where I don't need things, just to avoid someone I used to know before the weight gain. The embarrassment feels like too much to handle. Pathetic.

10. A long life. I want to live a long, productive life, which means I need to be healthy. I know what it is like to lose a parent at a young age, and it can be damaging. God has blessed me with a wonderful family and some great friends. I need to be here as long as I can for them.

    Honey I know how hard it can be ..just remember YOU DESERVE the best YOU! Make this a Life Long Journey to be healthy.. do not make it about a diet.. Diets do not work for the long term. Healthy eating habits with portion control and a body moving plan that works for you! That's what works.. So make this journey about making you and your family healthy and you can learn tools and wonderful foods that are healthy and a life long way to LIVE. Best of Luck!
