Sick and Tired and needing to get healthier

Wednesday, December 25, 2013

Today is Christmas and I surprisingly was able to tell my family what I wanted for gifts this year. I usually put everyone else above myself and I have been unable to come up with ideas for gifts when people ask me what they can get me. I literally can't think of anything that I want or need and my family winds up getting me gift cards which I wind up spending on others. My family gets upset with me and is hurt by my inability to let them treat me. This year I was able to come up with a nice little list of items I wanted, and on that list was a Nutri-bullet.

I realize that I am very ill, constantly gaining weight, and getting worse by the day. I recently learned that I have Immune Deficiency Syndrome, which means that I can't fight off infections, viruses or other illnesses, it also means that I have a much higher chance of getting cancer. Until I become very ill from the IDS my insurance company refuses to pay for the transfusions that could help me to feel better, but I can't afford to pay the extra $1,000.00 per month for the treatments.

I have realized for a long time that I have never eaten well and I don't get enough fruits or vegetables in my diet. My daughter is always bringing home fresh vegetables but they usually wind up being thrown out because we just don't eat them. I decided that I need to find a way to use those vegetables instead of throwing them out, and I need to find a way to get that nutrition into my body. My sweet husband actually made sure that he bought everything on my wish list including the Nutri-bullet.

I get to open my gifts today and am already trying to find recipes and foods that I can use beginning today. I realize that my best bet at attaining my goals and sticking to my plans is to come back to Spark People and utilize the tools that are here for all of us free of charge. Wish me Well and Merry Christmas to everyone.

The body given the right chances can cure itself of the most devastating illnesses. You took a step in the right direction with the Nutri Bullet.

I'd recommend adding as many greens as possible and stop eating refined items as best you can.

Have you ever heard of oil pulling? Look it up on Youtube. I use organic coconut oil which is very inexpensive at Costco. It's absolutely mind blowing what this can do for various situations going on in the body.

Find the Best in Everyday!

Tuesday, May 22, 2012

I live with a pesamist, and constantly am having negative things pointed out to me. I have found that I need to ignore as much of the negative as I can and find positive things everyday that I can be grateful for. Today I am grateful for a comfortable home and supportive friends and family. I can choose what ever I want for dinner, I like being able to choose my meals.

Knee slowing me Down

Sunday, May 20, 2012

I have gotten to love my walking, swimming and other lower body exercises, and really enjoy pushing myself to do more than my goals. I recently went on vacation and half way through the week I got out of my van and realized that I couldn't bare any weight on my right leg. I had an irritated Bakers Cyst and it had caused my leg to swell to almost 3 times it's normal size. I was on my way into a beautiful mansion for a tour when this occured so I promptly went to the nearest Walgreens, bought a cane and went on a later tour. I tried to keep going not letting the pain and mobility issues slow me down but I finally have realized that the only way I will gain mobility is to stay off it for a while. I just hate having to sit with my leg elevated swollowing pills that make me drowsy and not being able to get up and be active. I guess I will have to find less active things to occupy my time for a while, until my knee can recover..... emoticon

I took cute shoes to match my dinner dresses but all I could wear was flip flops! 7 days ruined! hubby still mad at me! :(

Health Habits while on Vacation

Thursday, May 10, 2012

I am getting ready to go on a camping vacation with my husband in 2 days, and it is very important to me that I can continue with my Health living goals. I am able to take my computer with me, which will keep me connected to the Spark People group, I am taking an electric refridgerator with me so storage of fresh foods will be possible. I have a fanc watch that will keep me on track with my exercising, and there will be plent of wonderful hiking trails. This will be the first time away from home for me since I made the new lifestyle changes so this is my first opportunity to be resourceful in unfamiliar territory. I am really looking forward to it.

I am open to suggestions and ideas to make things easier.

CAMPING!! How wonderful! One of my favorite things, right up there with swimming and fishing. I was always so active in the outdoors, I burned a lot of calories so it was never an issue. I'm sure you'll be just as active too. May you and your hubby have a healthy and safe vacation.
Cheers!

I have to say that this organization and it's tools is very well organized and motivational, I am very glad to have found it.
