Another 14pound! Whoops, that's gained, not lost...

I'm angry with myself and busy wallowing in self-loathing at my weight gain, since the start of January. So that's really doing me a power of good, obviously. So it's back to a more determined effort now.

Fighting back to fitness

Things have been right off course for a few months now. A nasty lingering virus that seemed to mutate into different forms in order to attack my body in as many ways as it could together with Christmas overload has left me feeling really slothful and flabby. I was shocked how exhausted I felt after a short walk along the seafront in Brighton on Boxing day. Hopes of a quiet Christmas have not been realised as we've been hosting family and friends - nice, but timing for this has been dreadful. I'm shattered and can see no real chance of a rest in the week ahead either...
However, I'm fighting back on the fitness front - and trying to get some 'me time' back into my life. Yesterday I cycled 6 miles and walked round town for an hour or so. Today I did much the same - and it was much easier! I'm hoping to cycle, walk or similar every day - throughout 2013 and 2014! I know how much better it makes me feel!
My goals / targets are mixed.
1 - Do some exercise each day.

2.Be able to cycle under the railway bridge near my home ( a steep hill I always walk) is a target I'd like to reach by the end of May - I'm not rushing things:)

3. Go skiing in France - maybe Feb? Preferably not looking like Michelin Man - and able to get up after falling over would help...

4. Get into my unworn little black dress - by May

5. Join a choir

6 Play more tennis

Well this is sounding a bit like New Years Resolutions. I shall stop now so I have something to write on 1st Jan!
2013 still has 2 days to go, so I want to make the most of them!

  


Nasty nausea diet

I'm definitely not on my diet of choice at the moment, but an unpleasant flu like virus has left me feeling nauseus and unable to eat much. This is a very rare thing for me! Hope it doesn't last long though.

No excuses November 4th

Back at work today...not fun.
As a teacher my job has become much harder, with more expectations and duties. I am expected to work for about 7 years longer than anticipated, whilst being paid less. Going in today to be sworn at and generally abused by some of the students did not make me feel better.
I think there are people in this world who tend to give, and others who tend to take. It feels as if the takers of this world are on my case at the moment!
Society is most definitely not equal, and I am well aware that I have a lot to be thankful for, but I'm feeling decidedly fed up with people who feel they have boundless rights but no responsibilities - and that includes children as well as adults.
Rant over!
Today has been my first 'fasting day' for a few months. It's been easier than expected - but then I still have the evening to go! At least I can eat normally tomorrow.

No excuses November day 3

Going ok so far, if not perfect! Tea and cake at Mock Turtle cafe was allowed because
A- i was taking my mum out
B- I'd walked along the sea front for a while
C- it was apple cake, one of my 5 a day...
I am ready for a fast day tomorrow- 500 ish calories - actually looking forward to it!
