It's beginning to show!

Friday, February 27, 2009

Today I went to the doctor and found I'd lost another 3 lbs for a total of 17 lbs. I've been able to feel the difference in my clothes for a couple of weeks. Today, my blood pressure was only 110/70. I don't know WHEN it's been that low. If I keep exercising and losing, I'm sure I'll be able to get off the BP meds. That will be exciting! So tonight I'm feeling pretty good, so off to bed.

congratulations - its a great motivator isn't it. My motivation was to prevent going on them. The doctor threatened me with them and I swore to myself I will not let that happen. emoticon

Weigh in day 2--the same :(

Tuesday, January 06, 2009

I'm trying to remember the 5 lbs I lost last week and that I didn't gain this week (despite the Mexican food plate on the 1st!) but it's hard not to see any loss. I've been doing pretty well on following my guidelines and exercise (well, I'm getting better on that). I'm a little down about this but I'll keep on plugging, it will show next week, right?

Weigh in day 1 -5

Monday, December 29, 2008

I'm so excited. I started SparkPeople on Christmas Eve to do something positive for myself since we weren't going to be celebrating. I've just been eating smaller portions and skipping the bedtime snacks. I wanted weigh in day to be on Monday so I would be careful during the weekends. I weighed in today and I'd lost 5 pounds in 5 days. I know this isn't how it will continue but it was sure a boost on a Monday morning! I'm feeling pumped up...I hope it lasts until I get off work so I can get myself to Curves.

Day One

Friday, December 26, 2008

I've finished about a day and a half here and I'm astounded by the friendliness of the people, the wealth of information available and the tools, I can't believe this is free. Absolutely wonderful. I made it though a pretty sad Christmas not so sad. Every time I logged on I had a message of welcome or friendship from a Spark-ler. I was able to sit down to a table full of food and eat a normal amount...and had a piece of pumpkin pie...without crust, thanks for the reminder, Linda. I've started tracking my meals on the Nutrition page...that'll be a powerful tool. I'm just feeling so enthusiastic and full of hope. Thank you all for your kindness and help.

This is a great place and we're all glad you're here! The support from the people here makes all the difference. Small things that you can do will add up to big rewards. One day at a time and one pound at a time. Good luck...we CAN do this!! emoticon emoticon
