I don't normally care much what happens to celebrities that find themselves in trouble. But for some reason my heart goes out to Lindsey Lohan. She is in desperate need of intervention. Sometimes the courts don't really care about the individual and don't truly look at what is best for them. The court thinks they are looking out for themselves, but sometimes, in my opinion they are misguided. My heart also goes out for her father.
If you have not been with me for very long, then you do not know that I am the mother of an addict so I have lived this life. It is difficult and tears at the very fabric of the lives of everyone that comes into contact with them. Every day is so emotional that your days run into each other. The stress is unimaginable. The families need almost as much help as the addict. She is lucky to have a father who is fighting for her even though she rejects it now. Times like this can either strengthen or kill an entire family. One of the news people was asked where they saw her in ten years and they were right on. She will either be forgotten, dead or winning an oscar. Some people would say, "Oh well!" This is a very talented life that so many are willing to throw away with the trash. How sad! At one time she was a very lively young lady with a smile on her face and healthy mischieviousness.
If you know someone who is dealing with an addict in their life today, let them know you are there for them if they need someone to talk to. Somewhere in your heart find a little compassion for the one who is suffering. They usually turn to drugs to mask the pain in their lives. Maybe you can be the one to help begin the turn around in their life. They are not to be feared, but loved more than most. Love truly does cover a multitude of sins. Before you are quick to judge, consider that they are human just as you are and you are no more perfect or imperfect than they. My heart is breaking for a family in deep crisis right now. It is my prayer that a few more hearts would break so that the healing can begin.
