Football Parties

Saturday, January 07, 2012

The food arrayed at a gathering to watch a football game can be staggering. Even if it is only two couples getting together to watch the Wildcard games. Add to this the host having left over food from a party from the previous night and this is a recipe for temptation.

It really is true that sitting in front of a TV for long periods of time invites more eating than is really necessary for a body; especially for two back-to-back games.

I'm glad my wife and I went for a 40 minute walk today taking advantage of the nice weather; it may have been my saving grace today.

Having Lunch With My Wife

Friday, January 06, 2012

My wife and I do not work in the same office. In fact, we do not work in the same city; our offices are almost 30 miles apart. But today I was having lunch with my wife even though we were nowhere near each other. This was how it happened...

This morning I noticed as we packed our lunches for the day (one of my Fast Break goals) that we were packing almost the exact same meal (I add a protein bar to mine which she does not). The thought hit me that even though we would not be together we would be eating the same food. In a way, we would still be sharing a meal together. That made for a very nice lunch today.

Wonderful Idea. I make same lunch for both me & hubby atleast 3 X a week. It is practical and saves time.

It all starts with a choice, "I will lose weight this year." I've lost track of how many times I've made that choice at the beginning of the year; I have the stretch marks and stout figure to prove that simply making a choice is not enough.

That's not exactly right. It's not about the BIG choice, but all the little choices that follow. Hundreds, thousands, even millions of little choices. It's the little choices that add up to let you know whether or not you succeed.

So I will resolve to take the time and be more mindful of the little choices.

Little choices make a lifestyle. Find what you like to do and it will be easier to stick with for more than a couple of weeks. Good luck!

Good luck! At the least, you recognize that you DO have a choice, which is always the right way to jump start your journey - To know that you are in control. You can do it!
