DOES MY BODY KNOW...

Tuesday, October 26, 2010

Happy Monday! Love my Life! and Love Sparkfriends! emoticon

Ok...I was just wondering something. It's pretty late her but I just finished eating my dinner. A plate filled with great veggies and man I am full!
Baked sweet potato
Lentils(my son claims he doesn't eat them so I will be eating them again. lol)
cucumbers
Green leaf lettuce
Small baked skinless chicken leg
Water

So many people have a set time to complete their eating. I know in these days of workers with various schedules and everyone can't possibly eat their last meal before 10 pm. When I worked at night I had dinner at 3am.

Ok...the point and question is Does my body know what time I eat my last meal...or any of my meals. I read that it does not but I want to confirm it. That sweet potato and lentils were packed with carbs. Not really my friend. To eat a naturally sweet vegetable like this sweet potato was wonderful. I added cinnamon and stevia. I really did not need the stevia. Too good. emoticon

Jumped on that tram today for 30mins while on a pain pill so I'll see if I have any pain from doing that. Felt good. I did not over due it and that's why I only did it for 30 mins. I also am doing upper body strength work today. I have expanded my strength training. It does a body good. emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon

I appreciate all who stop by. Sharing from my heart and trying to bring sunshine into each life that I come in contact with. Never trying to put anyone down nor myself. I am happy and hope you can tell. Loving to be on Spark for the rest of my life.
Goodnight
Deb

No matter if your body knows or not it all metabolizes the same way. So I think you could eat more if you wait too late to eat but if you are eating more clean like you are, you should be fine. Have a wonderful Tuesday!!

God bless you Sunshine!!

My theory is, if you have calories left late in the evening, it's ok to eat. But I try to stir away from high carb foods. AND of course it has to be healthy foods. Sounds like you got that covered for sure.
I have something to eat right before I go to bed each night. Something high in Fiber, and protein. The protein helps my metabolism stay high while I am sleeping so it doesn't need to be JUMP started when I eat breakfast.
IT all boils down to, calories in VS calories out pretty much.
Keep up the good work! Your doing great Sister!
Blessings,

I will say Deb that the dinner does sound good, lol but if you eat late, this really goes for any time of the day but especially l8 at night, dont be inactive and just lay there or dont go to sleep within 2-3 hours of eating all the carbs will store into your body and turn into fat. So thats why its important not to eat heavy l8 at night. Eating light like you did, or even just soup is ok.

    It is very nice problem.
What I think from reading lot of physiology is our body takes food by knowing through our taste buds in our mouth, then in our stomach the body get satisfied, and through our levels of absorbed food materials the basal central centres in our body knows through chemical transmitters that we need insulin or other hormones to deal with what we ate.
Definitely I feel that my body get pleased when I fill my stomach and definitely my body wants to go to sleep after heavy meal so the body rest \s and the blood instead of going to my muscles and brain it will turn to go to my bowels to deal with the food.

THE CLOSER

Monday, October 25, 2010

A CLOSER IS A HORSE THAT WAS LAST IN THE LATTER PART OF THE RACE, COMING FROM OFF THE PACE.

Sounds like the horse was lagging behind in the race and came and passed the leaders. I've seen this many times in movies. There's a movie out now about Secretariat. I remember that horse.

So I've been on this journey to fitness and health in all areas of my life. Started many years ago really but kept falling off the wagon thinking I was destined to remain overweight the rest of my life.

Well I'm coming from behind in this journey of mine and I can se the finish line. I have to keep going forward to reach my first goal so I can get to maintaining.

The Closer is one of my most favorite show at this time. I can watch it all long. Kyra Sedgwick is a Wonderful Emmy winning actress with a beautiful body. Her character as Chief Brenda is smart and slick and always gets her man or woman. She studies all of the evidence closely and ties up the loose ends when it seem like they had no leads. She's The Closer!

I am closely monitoring the evidence: logging my food and workouts. Making sure I am not doing things that can slow my race down. I may be here for the 3rd year but I'm on point and am going to do this no matter what. I am blessed to know that Jesus loves me and He has already won this battle for me. So I am running this race to get to the pace and win this race and closing my case . ONCE AND FOR ALL! emoticon

Loving my life on SparkPeople and making sure I get to meet as many members as I can to get motivation and to give motivation. It's better to give! emoticon

HONESTY IS ALWAYS THE BEST POLICY!

Saturday, October 23, 2010

Went to my cousin's baby shower today. It was a surprise and she was all smiles but she was walking around fussing. She didn't really want many to know but her home was packed full of loving family and friends. We had some fun!!!! emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon And it's a girl!(Due in Dec)

Well I did real good on the snacks although I ate a piece of the white cake and the butter cream frosting on top. That was a hard piece of dessert to log. I know I'm not the only Sparker to eat a piece of store bought bakery cake. I'll look again. Maybe under birthday cake. lol So I'm fessing up...but I felt great. Not being the biggest person their. In fact...I was smaller than some of the people I used to be waayyyy bigger than. I wanted to share with them but I know it will be another time. emoticon

We just eat too much food that is filled with empty calories. I was so blessed to see the fruit bouquet and my cousin's sister who gave the shower told me to eat as much of it as I liked. Sooooo I ate cantaloupe and it filled the void and I found the veggie plate. But I didn't touch the nachos and stayed away from chipping and dipping.

So I have calories and carbs left but not much fat or protein. So I'm hungry...yeah that cake was good...the icing had all the punch. Don't want to mention how that blood sugar test turned out. Lentils could help but they carry a packing...wait...they have 16 grams of fiber. This could be my save and then drink more water. emoticon

Well Honest is always the BEST Policy. Log EVERYTHING you eat. emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon

Sleep Well!

Congratulations to your cousin. Baby's are so precious. I am expecting a great-grand-child next May. What an exciting time. You are doing just great. I hope you enjoyed the cake, that is one of the things I can't pass up, but it sounds as though you did good otherwise. You are so right, honesty is the best policy, because the scales and the fit of the cloths tell the story. The only one you fool if you don't track, is yourself. Keep up the good work! Thank you for sharing! emoticon

YOU ARE THE KEY

Thursday, October 21, 2010

Hello Spark Friends and Thrill Seekers! emoticon

How was your Thursday emoticon emoticon

Well I've eaten some great healthy veggies earlier today and will eat my dinner in a few minutes. Earlier today I had... emoticon

Lentils: these little babies are great and versatile. I added chili powder, cinnamon, diced tomatoes and yellow onions. I also added more heat because I just love hot food. emoticonThey are full of folate, vitamins B-6, C, Calcium, Copper, Iron and 1 cup has a whopping 16grams of fiber and 17grams of Protein. Try them!

Cantaloupe: I used to hate this when I was growing up but now I just love them. My son picked a great little one yesterday full of natural sweetness and water! Packed with potassium, Vitamin A, C, Calcium, Folate, and many other vitamins. emoticon

Broccoli and Cauliflower: Potassium, Vitamin A, B=6, C. E, Calcium. Iron and Folate. They both are low in calories and I eat all I want of them naked. emoticon

My dinner will be some of the same and a little sandwich w/thin honey turkey and leafy green lettuce(more folate) and light olive oil mayonnaise on Whole wheat bread.
I also had a boiled egg with my lunch and I ate the WHOLE egg since I don't eat a lot. emoticon
I've had plenty of water and just returned from an hour of walking. Too slow for me. emoticon

Strength training after dinner. emoticon emoticon

I am proud of myself today This is another great day because I'm enjoying eating healthy and working out and SPARKFRIENDS!!!

It's easy to follow the healthy way and YOU are the KEY!

You go!! I am still trying to figure out how to get more folate in my life. One can only eat so many veggies before they get sick! lol I pray you had a decent workout. I didn't do the Pilates Sculpt last night but I did it this morning & Firm DVD. My knees are buckling a little but its all good.

God bless & enjoy the weekend!

NEVER STOP DREAMING...AND DREAM BIG

Thursday, October 21, 2010

That's my new to this earth little cousin Taliyah Michelle born at 2:33 am on 10/20/10 in my hometown of Tulsa. It was such an emotional feeling seeing her beautiful picture. A dream come true.

We should never stop dreaming. You know that babies are God's way of blessing the parents for children are a blessing from Him. These babies started in the minds of most of us. We wanted children and some of us prayed and prayed until we had them. God our Father yearns to help us like we yearn to help our children. We have to allow Him to do what He has ordained for our lives.

I depend on Father and everything that Jesus accomplished on the Cross for me. I believe and I know this change in my life is going to stick. I love my life and I love the Lord. My life is nothing without Him.

Never stop dreaming. There's plenty out there to believe for.
God bless!!!
