The Gift of a Mother
The gift of a Mother is one to be honored
For God created mothers to inspire
Her prayers are meant to send us Higher
Her love is genuine and special like no others
It's unique to be assigned a mother
A true Queen from Heaven is she
Her heart is connected to HIM for Eternity
She goes to the ends of the earth
Reminding you of YOUR blessed birth
No matter how much money she has
She can always make it last
She's determined to raise you with tough love
She was trained by THEM ALL from up above.
She trains her children to serve only HIM
Admonishes us not to go off on silly whims
For no one can change her Faith filled mind
He's proved His Word True all of the time
So honor your mother every day
Let Her know you love her for always
And if by chance she's already gone
Thank God that she's safe at HOME

Hello Spark Friends!

I am here to be a Light to the World. My victories are made because I have something to share with others. We can't keep what we have been blessed with to ourselves. Well, we shouldn't keep it all to ourselves. Some people believe that they can't give out to others, or that they have nothing to give at all. That's not true. We have so much inside of us that is a Gift from God, but we all have something inside of us to give back. No matter how large or how small.

For so many years I felt like I was worthless. This attitude came because of the low self esteem I had because of the excess weight. I did not love myself. I hated my life and thought that I had been dealt a bad hand in life. Then I got off that pity party in 2007 and started to love me for who God made me inside. I am special. I have Gifts that others would love to have in their lives. That's why I attempt to share the Gifts that I have with others as much as possible.

I know because of the Love of Jesus His Light is in me and I am going to let my Light shine everyday to all that I meet. Sometimes it's hard for me to keep a smile on my face, so others think I'm mad or just a mean person. I've been practicing smiling and just being happy. I am happy no matter where I am with my goals. I know that eventually I'll get to the end but it will not just be the end. It's the start of a new greater way of living and I am so happy to share it with all and any one who ask. My desire is to help and love my neighbor as myself. Do to others as you would love for others to do for you. I am determined to be a person of love at all times.

So what do you have up for the weekend? Will you continue your fitness and healthy eating routine or will you use the weekend to eat any and everything you did not eat all week long? Just a question. Is there something wrong if you decide to do this? Well, it depends on the person. Are you trying to change your eating habits to benefit your healthy fitness program? What are you eating? Why do you decide to eat what you don't eat through the week on the weekends?

My take on this: I believe if you can eat in moderation throughout the week and the weekend, there will be no need to overeat the things you love on the weekend. In fact, some people use this to eat and eat and eat some more of all the junk food that is avoided during the week then try to make it up by exercising like crazy. Does this work? Not at all. You might lose some weight but this will have a bad outcome and it's best to allow all food every day but eat your favorites in moderation. If you have some type of sickness or disease that depends on you eating properly, it's best for you to adhere to your doctor's instructions.

When you eat outside of an eating plan from your health care provider, your sickness or disease can actually take a turn for the worse. That's not what you want to do. I say this from experience with diabetes. Eating outside of that eating plan will cause the blood sugar to spike up or even down and neither one is best for myself. You run the risk of causing an emergency because of not eating properly. Many other conditions can cause an emergency too because of the choice in the foods you eat.

It's easy to eat that piece of cake, but what happens when you wake up the next day and want to eat another. Food can be addicting, some more than others (like sugar) and that is what you are working against. Anytime I allow myself to go outside of what I intend to consume it does not work out well. There are better substitutions that you can adapt in order to stay within a healthy eating pattern.

I guess I wrote all this to say: Deb straighten up YOUR eating habits. NOW!!!

Sometimes I just have to get tough with myself.

    Very nice blog and insightful. So often we just eat without really thinking about the consequences. Your blog points out something really important about THINKING before you eat. Why are you eating that? Why are you overeating on the weekend? Once you really think about what you're doing, hopefully it will help you make better choices. emoticon emoticon

LET'S CONFUSE MY BODY!!!

Happy Tuesday to everyone!!!
Monday was a better day since it rained all weekend and I didn't go walking at the park. I decided to do a mini Bootcamp for myself. I have changed up my workouts so that my body will not get used to the walking and jogging.

Monday I worked out with my Prevention Drop it in 30 DVD w/Chris Freytag. She's a great trainer and this is one of my favorite workout dvds in my collection. I tell you that sweat was pouring off of me letting me know that I was working out hard and that's what a bootcamp workout is.

Later I worked out with Leslie Sansone's 2 Mile Power Walk for 34 mins. Yes...2 miles in 34 mins and it was powerful and my body poured w/sweat also. I just love Leslie's upbeat and positive attitude and you can see the Light of the Lord in her and these videos that anyone can due in their own pace.
Combined that was a 700 burn or maybe more since I did kind of ran a little and jumped with Leslie. I tell you family, that run is in me now and I have to get back to it later in the week. emoticon

I do know that I will continue Prevention's dvd for the rest of the week and I have already rested on Sunday. Sparkers you know it is very important to rest at least one day so your muscles can do their job and get in line with what you want to happen. Sometimes we get in a hurry and don't rest and then we wonder why nothing is changing since we are doing cardio 7 days a week which is draining. Also switch up on those workouts. I didn't realize how excited the Prevention makes me when I do it. I will also workout with the metabolism building intervals later in the week...well maybe later today. Those drills are energizing and I hope to do them in the morning.

I am making progress with my fitness goals and I am very excited. I thank God that He has brought me a mighty long way being my Personal Trainer. Thank You Jesus!!!

Walking my Way to A Great Body 4/15/2010

Happy Tax Day!!! Happy Thursday!!! Happy Birthday!! Happy Anniversary!!!

And anything else I might have forgotten. I had early afternoon loooooong 90 minute walk today at the park I'm walking my way to a great body. Wow those squirrels must have heard me talking about them. I know they were talking bout me. emoticon

The weather was made just for me and I enjoyed every step I took today. I have decided to blog everyday that I can about my workouts. I know that this helps me in my journey and I have not used this tool much online. I have several journals here at home that I write in. I love sharing my thoughts and my accomplishments to all of you. I post on a thread and get long winded so i decided to put my thoughts here where they should be.

When I'm walking or running around that track I see the end. Victory. 150 pounds and I'm really flying around the track then. I think of greater health and the diabetes that will not need me to take medicine for. Totally healed and walking in Divine health. That's what I am striving for. It's expensive to be healthy when you are paying hundreds of dollars on medication. I don't agree with that poll I took that 53% said that being healthy was not expensive. Even buying the right food to eat is expensive. How much does a pint of blueberries cost where you live? Well at our neighborhood Kroger they are 3.00 a pint and that might be smaller size. Now if I drive several miles down the highway from my home to a Hispanic grocery store there are great deals and a vast amount of veggies that I have never tried like kale and bok choy. But the gas I burn going to another city to shop takes away from the lower prices than the stores in my city. Also, these stores don't have all the varieties of veggies that I like to choose from.

Well, I'm not trying to complain because I'm here to motivate. Whatever the cost I will get what I desire to eat that is healthy and new. I'll probably shop there this Saturday since I'll be with my daughter and I'll have to pass this store on my way home. Eating new foods make this journey exciting. Mixing up on your workouts makes this journey exciting too. Also being a member of Spark People and seeing how the world is getting to know who we are and what is happening here is exciting too. I requested my local library to purchase The Spark and I pray they do.

Any who stop by and read , I pray that you keep doing what is working for you. Don't over train. Remember to weight train even if you have to use your own body weight. You also can use can goods out of the kitchen pantry. You don't have to drop 5.bs a week. Let the weight come off 2lbs a week and don't be discouraged if the pounds come off slower. You are headed in the right direction since you decided to start this journey. We can and will conquer this weight battle. The Battle has already been conquered. Let's act like it.
