Locker room still closed!

Wednesday, October 05, 2011

Stopped at the gym again this morning only to find that the locker room was still closed, but they had a sign up this time. Hmmm, wonder when they put it up? Came home with the intention of going for a walk but I just couldn't make myself do it....grrrr. Instead I baked, apple streusel muffins and apple crisp. Sent the muffins with my husband to work and the apple crisp to my son. I did sample the muffins and they were pretty good. The husband liked them and the guys he works with did too! My son called and said that he had a complaint, there wasn't enough apple, or enough crisp....silly kid! So I guess the day wasn't a total loss, but no work out ...grrr. Tonight I am taking an old pair of shoes with me in case the locker room is still off limits, I NEED a workout!!

One of those days.

Tuesday, October 04, 2011

Got off work at 6 a.m. and all I wanted to do was come home and go to bed. I knew that if I didn't go to the gym though I wouldn't workout at all today so off to the gym I went. When I got there it was full, way more people there then normal, can tell it's getting colder outside! So I head to the locker room to change, but there is a man in there laying down tile. Can't get to my locker where my shoes are...grrrrr. I have my workout clothes in my bag so I could have changed in the restroom but no shoes since they never bothered putting up any notice that the locker room would be off limits for a day or two. I even checked up by the front desk....no notice! I was upset to say the least. They are always doing stuff like that!! The worst part is that there isn't any other gyms or fitness centers that I can go to, pretty rural area, so I left without any work out since you have to have "clean" gym shoes.....and the nice work boots that I was wearing would have been a bit clumpy and heavy to do much of a workout in...LOL I was grumpy the whole way home! I did manage a quick walk around town though. Made good time since I was pouting!!

Change in plans

Wednesday, August 31, 2011

Got off work this morning at 6 a.m. made it to the gym by 6:10, on the elliptical by 6:20 and left at 6:34. Not much of a work out! I had planned on doing 40 minutes on the elliptical, some strength exercises and 30-40 minutes on the treadmill but plans changed.
My daughter called my cell phone just as I was getting into the elliptical, the baby was up and wanted to stay up, since about 3:30 this morning! The daughter asked if I could come and watch her so she could get a little sleep since she had to work today. I just couldn't say no to the chance to spend time with my Lil Cupcake, so when I got there the baby was wide awake, not a sleepy eye to be found. Well since it was fairly decent outside decided we could go for a walk so it would be quiet in the house and Mommy and Daddy could get at least 45 minutes of sleep. Wouldn't you know it, baby was sleeping before we had even walked for 5 minutes. Ended up walking with her for a little over 40 minutes, then back to her house to make sure Mommy would get up in time to make it to work, Daddy was already heading out as we got back.
The baby went to her first day at day care today and I think she could tell that something was off with her Mommy last night so she didn't sleep as well as normal. My Daughter cried from the time she dropped her off at day care until she pulled into the parking lot at work. This was the first time it hasn't been one of her grandparents watching her when my Daughter has worked. So I'm sure the baby was picking up on some of that nervousness the night before.
Plans change but sometimes it is a nice thing!

You still had exercise with some special company. It is hard to drop off for the first time at daycare. Our first was home two years, then in daycare. MIL watched him while we worked.

Lazy Day

Sunday, August 28, 2011

Today was a lazy day! I did nothing, and I don't feel bad! had a fairly busy weekend and just needed a day for nothing. Friday I had be be up early so I could meet my Mom and price items that we are going to need for Mom and Dads 45th Anniversary celebration. After we were done with that the husband and I had to do some shopping and then pick up the Grand Daughter...yeah...who was spending the night. I love it when she comes, but boy do I get worn out. It was getting late by the time we got home and she still needed her bath and her meds. She loves her bath and it is so fun to watch her splash and giggle. She finally went to sleep around 11:00 but didn't sleep to well since the neighbors have 5 dogs that bark non stop..GRRRRRR.....poor baby.
Saturday we had a bridal shower to go to and we went for a nice walk besides the weekend cleaning and laundry. Forgot how hard that is to do with an almost 4 month old baby. You should see how well she rolls over. Goodness that little one has my heart. She was a bit fussy from not having the greatest nights sleep. I felt so bad for her. She was here until around 9:30 last night when her Mommy got done working, I was whipped but still needed to get some things done so finally at midnight I was ready for bed. The Husband made salsa today, we have tons of fresh tomatoes, but I didn't even help him, and I don't feel bad. Took a nap and cleaned up some of the mess. He did the rest!!! Yeah Husband!!!!Now I need to get to work.
Hope everyone had a great weekend!

We all need days to do "nothing". I have them every so often for my sanity.

my umpf

Wednesday, August 24, 2011

My umpf is missing, can't seem to find it anywhere. If found please return it to me as soon as possible. Went to the gym this morning and just couldn't seem to get into it. Most of the time I may not want to go but once I get there and get into what I'm doing the time just flies. Not this morning, I had to bribe myself to even do the elliptical, then the weights, couldn't seem to even lift them, struggled with the whole workout. So as you can see, I NEED my umpf back!

That happens sometimes...gotta keep doing what you know works, even if your heart isn't into it...this is how we prime the pump and keep ourselves open to be "infected" by the SPARK! :-)
