Sleepless days and stress!

Well I finally did it, I stepped on the scale, and it wasn't good! The weight has jumped back up to 212!! emoticon emoticon emoticon I have been really bad at watching what I eat and part of it has to do with the fact that I can't sleep and so I get up and eat. There is no one else home during the day (I work 3rd shift) so instead of coming out and talking to someone, I eat, and it is mindless eating, half the time I don't even want it but if its there, I eat it. Afterwards I am upset with myself and so I eat more, but that doesn't make me sleep any better!
Have been stressed about a lot of things so that doesn't help the sleeping either. My almost 8 week old granddaughter was diagnosed with a form of epilepsy and has been hostitialized twice already. The first time she was taken by ambulance, with lights and sirens, since she had quit breathing and her lips had started to turn blue from the local hostitial to a larger one about 2 hours away. The second time my daughter and son-in-law called the larger hospitial and told them what had happened and they were told to bring her up right away to the E.R. Both times she scared the heck out of us all.
Then yesterday my clothes dryer totally quit and isn't worth fixing, and my car seems to think it needs random dash lights to come on and off when ever it pleases, but no one can figure out if there really is a problem with the motor or if there is just a short somewhere.
On Fathers Day my granddaughter was baptized. That was a wonderful day. My son even agreed to be one of her sponsors emoticon. For him that was a big deal, he hates getting up in front of people for any reason.
The gown she wore was the same one I wore and that my daughter wore. I just wanted to share some pictures of her from that day. They make me smile. The last one is of my granddaughter and Dad, I just love the face she is making!


I want to set a good example for her and once I figure out what to do about the not sleeping I think things should get back on track! I have been exercising, and feel rotten on the days I don't!

    Hi CHUBBY_MOM!

I saw your Huddle message from the "Never Been Skinny" team that asked folks to come to your page, so here I am!

Boy oh boy, I know how hard it is to make stuff happen when you're not sleeping well! Sleep should be prescribed like medicine! It's that important, from what I hear and read. Especially when you're trying to see to your wellness. And it makes sense with regard to the mindless eating, as it seems to go along with the H.A.L.T. formula that describes some of the reasons we eat:

Hungry
Angry
Lone
ly
TIRED

I know that doesn't solve the problem for you, but at least it confirms that the two are, or may be, connected.

What do you do to throw off stress? Are you working out much these days? That both relieves stress and tires you out more so that your body and mind are ready for bed when it's time to go.

Have you ever had a professional massage? I'm biased, I know, but you'd be amazed at what we store in our muscles. Anything you feel, your muscles store, pretty much. Or reflect somehow. As does your whole body.

Are you drinking all your water?

These are just a couple of suggestions, and I hope they help! If not, just know that you've been heard, and someone is hoping that things get more restful for you soon!

Pictures of Granddaughter and recommitting!

I finally was able to post pictures of my granddaughter. I loved being a mom, but being a grandma is the most unbelievable feeling in the world! She is a wonder to me!
I hadn't been doing to well with the choices I was making food wise and the fitness was a bit hit and miss this last month but it is time to recommit. Have been trying real hard this week to make better food choices and have tried to do some form of exercise even if it is for only a few minutes. The weight was starting to creep (more like jump) back up and that really scared me to think that all the hard work I have been doing since I started this journey might just be wasted because I was giving into the binges. I was getting lazy, but time to get serious again! I CAN do this!! emoticon

    Having a granddaughter can help give you even MORE motivation...! You're going to want to be around a LONG time and INSPIRE your granddaughter by being a healthy role model for her! :-)

I LOVE being a grandma!

It's been a while since I've been on here...ugh and my jeans and shorts from last summer sure can tell!
A great thing has happened though, I became a GRANDMA!! My granddaughter was born on May 4th, 2011. She is just the most precious little thing ever. She has some health issues but we are all praying that things get better. My daughter and son-in-law seem to be adjusting pretty well to being first time parents.
Time to get back to work...yuck!! LOL I hope to get some pictures on here soon of the baby!!

At a stand still

I haven't been doing to well at sticking to my goals these past few days. Have been busy with a baby shower, lots of fun and lots of food! Have decided that since the weather has been so nice that I should be out enjoying it instead of being on the computer so I haven't been entering my fitness minutes or even logging on to much. It is hard when it sooo nice out.
My daughter is at less then 5 weeks to her due date. She told me the other day that I am on the list of who is allowed in the delivery room!!! I'm so excited, but just because I'm on the list doesn't mean I will actually be in there when the time comes. She will decide when she is in labor but I have a feeling I will be, she thinks she's all grown but but she still needs her momma!! LOL I can't wait to be a Grandma!!!!

    ahhhh... My mom, my sisters, my nieces, my grandma ( for my first son) and my sister in law watched my births.... my older son who was 13 when I had my second child stood next to me and held my hand the whole time.... he couldn't allow himself to peak ( thank god)... but he wanted to be a part ofg it and support me.

6 weeks!

My daughter has 6 weeks until her due date. I can't wait to be a GRANDMA!!! We were teasing her that she will want her mom with her in the delivery room, but so far she is saying just her husband will be there for the delivery. Everybody else says she will be asking for me.
The weight thing is driving me crazy. Seem to be at a stand still even though I have changed up my exercise routine a bit. My husband has even been walking with me most of the time when I walk in the afternoon. It feels like he walks, I run. I hope that once the weather warms up and we are able to do more things outside the weight will move a little in the right direction.

I've been walking with my husband too. I found I walk faster and longer distances with him for some reason. He keeps up pretty good. We even tried out jogging twice!

    Try having a postman for a hubby! If I can get him to speed up his walk while I jog at all I am excited :) It is good to be pushed though.
