I'll take it!

Wednesday, February 23, 2011

Did my weigh-in Monday and lost 2 pounds!! WOOHOO. Guess that makes up for the week before with no weight loss, no gain either, so that was a good thing. I can't wait for it to get nice outside so I am not stuck inside all the time. Saturday was nice so I actually went for an hour walk, it about killed me. Walking on the treadmill is soooo much easier. Think I need to walk outside as much as possible. I used to do it every day. The walk I did on Saturday used to take 45 minutes, lots of hills, but like I said it took an hour this time. Granted I had on a whole lot more heavy clothes then normal but I was huffing and puffing by the time I made it back to the house...ugghhhh.
11 weeks until my daughters due date!! Pretty sure I'm not going to make my goal weight by then, but as long as I continue to go in the right direction, down, I'm happy with that. The daughters mother in law says we are to young to be grandmas, so we need to be part of the sexy grandma club....LOL.
Hope you all have a great and healthy week!

Biggest Loser

Wednesday, February 09, 2011

Tonight I happened to actually sit down and watch the Biggest Loser. Wow, the weight they lost in just one week is insane. I would have been jumping for joy at 7 pounds that the on contestant lost, yet he was soooo disappointed. I'm sure when working on weight loss is about the only thing they are doing it was disappointing but for the rest of us that can't devote 110% of our time to the battle that would have been at great feeling!! I am happy with my 1 pound loss this past week.......baby steps will get me to where I need to be!

We are in the real world with normal situations and challenges. One pound is great, we didn't add our pounds in a week and they won't all come off over night. We can succeed even these small losses are steps toward our goals.

Remember The BIggest Loser is an unnatural situation-they are in a controlled environment and doing it to win millions!! There are tales of unhealthy things going on to lose that weight. Your one pound is a much better loss.

A lose is a lose no matter how small!

Did my weigh-in Monday morning and I lost 1 pound, not great but way better then gaining a pound! emoticon I am happy with it since I had a few days that I know I didn't choose the healthiest foods to eat.
Talked with my daughter before work and she told me about her doctors appointment, had to laugh. She said the baby was very active during her appointment and that when the doctor tried listening to the heart beat the baby started kicking at where the monitor was and then would move to the other side. Doctor said the baby seems very healthy and active. She is now 27 weeks along. Starts seeing the doctor twice a month now. I can't wait until May!!

Snow Snow and more Snow!

Sunday, February 06, 2011

I am starting to think that the way this winter has been that we will still be shoveling snow and mowing lawn in the same week....if spring ever gets here...LOL Well tomorrow is my weigh-in, hoping for the best since this has been a up and down week. Wasn't able to get to the gym as much as I wanted because of the weather, and seem to have a hard time doing much for exercise at home...don't know why, since I do have some work out videos here. Then the ladies I work with seem to think that we need to eat junk food at every break, and sometimes by that time of night I think I am just starving, so a few chips turn into a lot of chips...ughh! Have been trying to walk a bit on my second break though. I really have to start tracking and recording what I eat better. I was doing it for a while but my husband had such a fit about it that I quit doing it. Going to give myself permission to enjoy a few snacks this evening while watching the Super Bowl, ok, maybe not so much the game as the commercials, but since I work in Wisconsin I better at least pretend to cheer on the Packers...LOL....actually do hope they win because if they don't I will be working with a bunch of sad little cheddar heads tonight!!
Less then 14 weeks to my Granddaughter arrives!! Can't wait to be a GRANDMA!!!!

After the rotten weigh-in this morning I was feeling pretty bummed but I managed to drag my butt to the gym after work. Was really glad I did! I felt better after using the elliptical and not huffing and puffing to hard. Then went on to work on some exercises for toning up the arms. As I was using the one machine a guy that comes to the gym every day was walking by and I heard him go....WOW.....well I thought he was talking to either his wife or his trainer so I didn't pay much attention, since I knew he had just got done doing some pretty serious free weights. When I was finished both him and his wife came over and said that they have seen a lot of guys not able to lift what I was doing and that they both thought my arms had some nice tone. I tell you I really could have hugged them both, and actually they are pretty lucky that I didn't hug them! emoticon I don't think they knew how much I really needed that comment!! I just need to remember just because the numbers on the scale aren't where I want them it doesn't give me the right to whine (well to much) and give up!! I need to just stick to it and I will get there!!! Oh yeah, was so pumped after talking with them I did 50 minutes on the treadmill!!! emoticon
