Day gone bad!

Thursday, November 07, 2013

Today has been a struggle from the time my alarm went off at 3:30a.m. until I drug my butt into this chair!
My legs, knees and hips hurt when I first got up and as the day went on, the more they hurt, almost to the point of tears. There was no way I couldn't walk at work, just part of what I was doing today, the steel toe work boots emoticon weren't helping anything either. Since I felt rotten I thought that gave me the excuse to eat rotten, and boy did I. I have a hard time staying in my calorie range most days, and today I just totally ignored calories and ate, and ate! emoticon emoticon I don't even want to track what I ate because, I know the thing that asks if you are done tracking and would you like to run the report thing will come up, and I won't even be half done entering everything I ate!
After work I drove about 40 miles that ended up being a wasted trip, since I left my checkbook at home and had no cash with me. Couldn't renew my drivers license with no money! GRRRRR
Ever have one of those days?
I think I'm going to bed and just starting over tomorrow.

I am a big kid at heart. I love Halloween! I make my family spend days getting our garage ready for Halloween. Putting up black fabric around the inside of the garage, stuffing dummies, setting up spooky props and decorations, string up those darn fake spider webs, and making awesome treat bags. This year we did hands filled with candy, complete with a spider ring and holding a glow stick. Unfortuatley this year we only had a little over 30 kids, which means we have lots of leftover candy, NOT GOOD! I told the husband that I don't care what happens to that candy as long as it is gone when I get home from work because I will eat it until it's gone. I can't stop with just one piece, I have to eat it all. I know better, but I just seem to go into a sugar daze! Piece after piece ends up in my mouth. I feel sick and disgusted with mysefl after wards but really just can't seem to stop. So you can see why I want it gone. How do you deal with Halloween candy? emoticon emoticon

I don't have trick-or-treaters, except for my grandson. I just buy him something special and keep it hidden away until Halloween. However, there seems to be candy everywhere! I'm usually pretty good at not eating it, because like you, I just want more and more! Then feel that same disgust! It's the same with Christmas stocking candy and Easter candy. I still do these things for my grown kids, their significant others, and kids. I must be careful to store it and forget it. This year I'm making homemade treats for stockings. Healthy, like protein bars. I also saw a really cute idea for Halloween--putting faces of clementines with a magic marker. I guess in other words, I'm going for more healthy treats. It's better for everyone and if I indulge, I don't feel so guilty!

We don't have enough kids in our neighborhood (we live outside of town), so we don't hand out candy at all. Instead, we go to my mother in law's in town and enjoy the experience with her at her house. When we leave, we don't have to worry about left over candy in our house:-) emoticon

Luckily I don't have to buy any because we don't have any kids in the area. I sure do miss opening doors to the kids and seeing all the costumes and their cute little faces but alas, no kids this year. That is how I deal with the candy. :)

I try to get the kind that I DO NOT like, and just a bit of what I do! The leftover candy is put in a ziplock to take to my grand kids. I too can not stop eating the "good stuff" until is all gone!

Last night at 11:00p.m. I was a little less then 700 steps from my daily goal and it was driving me crazy. I really didn't think I was going to make it. I had to since that is one goal I can usually make daily, so I walked up and down the short hallway in the house, through the bedroom and kitchen for 20 minutes but I did it! I made my goal for the day! I even went over my daily goal! WOOHOO!

Spark Tracker

Thursday, October 31, 2013

I LOVE LOVE LOVE my tracker! I get so excited when I have all my lights glowing! Sounds silly but it really motivates me. Sad that I am not going to reach my goal for the day. Had so many things going on that it is just not going to happen. Tomorrow is a new day, 10,000 steps here I come!

After your last blog questioning it's accuracy, I am glad to see you like it more. I am waiting to see how others like theirs. I use a Nike Fuel Band which I love, but it doesn't do a good job of tracking weightlifting and bike work, just walking and running. Have you tried yours with biking or weight-lifting?

hmmm....spark tracker?

Tuesday, October 22, 2013

Well I put my Spark tracker to the test today. I love the fact that it shows how many steps I have so far today, but it didn't show my work out time. That is a bit disappointing. I did a brisk (for me) walk of at least 20 minutes but it still says I have no work out minutes! I didn't stop so I'm not sure why it isn't showing up. It said on the information that I read that it has to be 10 minutes of continues movement to be counted as a workout and I didn't stop or even slow down to much. Yesterday it gave me workout minutes and I know I didn't walk as long since it was later in the day and I needed to get some other things finished, but wanted to play with the tracker.

I have noticed that too but when I have gone back later it has showed up seems that the fitness minutes part of the tracker lags a bit behind sometimes. I hope this helps!
