Starting Over.... AGAIN. :(

Monday, December 28, 2009

Well, here I am, December 28, 2009 and I'm at the same place that I was a year ago. I did really well from January to July this year with eating the right foods and getting a good amount of exercise. Then I abandoned all the great habits and went back to my old ways. I'm back up to 203 lbs. That's only one and a half pounds away from my starting point in January.

This time I'm going to do things a little different. I'm going to stick by the recommendations of Sparkpeople for calories to be consumed and exercise. I overdid it with exercise at times and deprived myself of food a lot of the time this year. I didn't FEEL deprived but looking back at my food logs I had many days that I only ate between 800 and 900 calories.

Today when I input all my current info, SP calculated my calorie intake for the day to be between 1800-2200. That seems like a lot to me to lose weight with, but I'm going to stick to it and see what happens.

My first goal is to lose 43 lbs by May 31st. At that time I will make the decision about losing another 10 lbs. I'm very tall and I think I look my healthiest when I'm about 160. So, that is my first goal.

I'm going to live 2010 differently in a lot of ways...this is only one of them. 2010 is MY YEAR TO WIN!!!

Obsessed with the scale

Monday, February 09, 2009

Ok, so it's day 20 and I'm officially obsessed with the scale. It's the first thing I think about the second I wake up. I know I am only supposed to "weigh-in" once a week but I can't help but go to it every day. (I'm better than I've been in the past. About 10 years ago on a diet, I'd weigh myself 3 times a day or more). I can even tell the minute my feet hit the floor if I feel lighter or not, maybe I'm holding water or feeling a little swollen...on those days I know I need to stay far away from the scale but instead I run even faster to it - just to torture myself, I guess. Besides throwing it out into the trash, I don't know if I can stop obsessing about it! UGH!!!

19 Days already??

Sunday, February 08, 2009

Wow. I can't believe it's been 19 days. I have always been a yo-yo dieter and am truly sick and tired of it. It's too stressful! I have a huge motivator in front of me right now, but I want to make these changes for the rest of my life. I'm getting TOO OLD for this up and down stuff! It's not as easy to take the weight off anymore. It must be that "over 30 metabolism". In just 13 weeks I leave for Playa Del Carmen, Mexico and I've read that EVERYONE wears 2 piece swim suits in Mexico! LOL I've NEVER EVER EVER wore a 2 piece. In fact, I have only stepped into a swim suit ONE TIME in the last 20 years. I'm working out every day. I've really gotten into a good routine that I feel is working well. I will keep pushing forward and I WILL be a success story!

To date: down 12 lbs., down 12 inches total!!
