Have a laugh

Thursday, September 24, 2009

Q: Doctor, I've heard that cardiovascular exercise can prolong life. Is this true?
A: Your heart is only good for so many beats, and that's it... don't waste them on exercise. Everything wears out eventually. Speeding up your heart will not make you live longer; that's like saying you can extend the life of your car by driving it faster. Want to live longer? Take a nap.

Q: Should I cut down on meat and eat more fruits and vegetables?
A: You must grasp logistical efficiencies. What does a cow eat? Hay and corn. And what are these? Vegetables. So a steak is nothing more than an efficient mechanism of delivering vegetables to your system. Need grain? Eat chicken. Beef is also a good source of field grass (green leafy vegetable). And a pork chop can give you 100% of your recommended daily allowance of vegetable products.

Q: Should I reduce my alcohol intake?
A: No, not at all. Wine is made from fruit. Brandy is distilled wine, that means they take the water out of the fruity bit so you get even more of the goodness that way. Beer is also made out of grain. Bottoms up!

Q: How can I calculate my body/fat ratio?
A: Well, if you have a body and you have fat, your ratio is one to one. If you have two bodies, your ratio is two to one, etc.

Q: What are some of the advantages of participating in a regular exercise program?
A: Can't think of a single one, sorry. My philosophy is: No Pain...Good!

Q: Aren't fried foods bad for you?
A: YOU'RE NOT LISTENING!!! ..... Foods are fried these days in vegetable oil. In fact, they're permeated in it. How could getting more vegetables be bad for you?

Q: Will sit-ups help prevent me from getting a little soft around the middle?
A: Definitely not! When you exercise a muscle, it gets bigger. You should only be doing sit-ups if you want a bigger stomach.

Q: Is chocolate bad for me?
A: Are you crazy? HELLO!!! Cocoa beans! Another vegetable!!! It's the best feel-good food around!

Q: Is swimming good for your figure?
A: If swimming is good for your figure, explain whales to me.

Q: Is getting in-shape important for my lifestyle?
A: Hey! 'Round' is a shape!

Well, I hope this has cleared up any misconceptions you may have had about food and diets.

I hate liars

Wednesday, September 23, 2009

A liar is a person who is lying, who has previously lied, or who tends by nature to lie repeatedly.

Why do people lie? Don't liars realise what they do to their friends, partners, families?
Don't they realise how damaging it is to them selves?
They must know that they are untrustworthy and that must be a terrible feeling, so why are they still doing it?
To lie is to be dishonest, dishonesty kills relationships, love and respect.

In my opinion, a liar has no self respect and does not respect anybody else.

    I agree with 100%!!!!

My grandmother would have been 92yrs old and she told me at a very young age
"If they LIE they will CHEAT IF they cheat they will STEAL"
And I have seen with my own eyes & trials & tribulations SHE NEVER LIED!!!

There is no point to lie if u tell 1 lie u have 2 tell another and after a period of time u can't remeber!!!

I don't like to be lied to becuz it points u at point where u feel like yur violated!!!!
Trust is important period in all aspects of life once it's viloated it is never the same!

I pray everything works out !! God is incontrol and he allows things to happen to open our eyes & mind to situations that may have already been presented to us that we don't want to face or we ignore!!!!

YUR new friend add me to yur list!

Different scales - different weights

Wednesday, September 23, 2009

My bath room scales tell me I weigh 75 kg, at the same time, before break fast, my wii scale tells me that I weigh 74 kg and the scales at my weight challenge club says I weigh 76 kg , that's 12 hours later though. So how much do I weigh???

I agree that you have to use one scale and go with that. Also, during the day your body weight will change up to 2 pounds more or less. Remember, it is only a number and not to get too upset with the differences-have a great day!

I think I'll try to stay with the wii, it seems to be the most accurate one. Also I've been thinking, the body has to gain weight during the day due to eating and drinking, which accounts for the 1 kg increase.

Scales are only as good as their method of calibration. For consistency in tracking your weight, you need to rely on one scale only. A kilogram here or there measured on different scales is normal. I vary as much as 3kg. difference between an older bathroom scale and my newer digital scale. I'd like to believe the lower reading from the bathroom scale, but, the digital scale is more accurate. It records a weight similar to the readings from the scale at my doctor's office. I weigh-in first thing in the morning, before breakfast, every day and record that reading. If I eat a modest, nutritious breakfast, then weigh-in again, I usually show a kg. or 2 gain. I suggest you weigh yourself first thing in the morning on your home bathroom scale and accept that weight.

I have the same issue. For which scale are you the most consistent in terms of time of day, activity, etc.? Follow that one.

Since I'm at WW, that's my official weigh-in for the week. When I have to fend for myself, for other teams that weigh in on other days, I look for the most representative weight for the day.

If I could train myself to get on the Wii each day when I woke up, I could go by that.

Gained muscle or fat?

Saturday, September 19, 2009

One week lost 2.6 kg, the next put on 500 g but lost 23 cm so I think I put on some muscle as fat is lighter than muscle. I feel absolutely great. emoticon

Lost 2.6 kg in one week

YESSSS!!! Moving your body does help to lose weight. I was sick with the swine flu so couldn't exercise. I have overcome the swine and started to power walk 7 km 5 times a week.
