Life goes on...

Tuesday, June 26, 2012

The wheels well and truly fell off my wagon this year.

At the end of March my best friend died suddenly of a stroke. She was only 52 and I still can't believe she is really gone! Our relationship was unique because not only was she my best friend she was my Aunt. There was only 10 years between us so we were more like sisters.

We had lived together as flatmates/friends/family for the last 12 years and even when we annoyed each other silly we were always there for each other and now she's gone.

It has been surreal as everything is still here and life goes on but it's not the same.

I know she would kick my butt to see that I have slacked off. So today I am back on track. I have my meal plan back into action and back on the exercise track.

So Jac, I miss you, aroha.

Change of season, change of wardrobe...

Monday, October 24, 2011

So I am happily going about getting on with my goal of losing 2 dress sizes by Christmas and decided today was a good day to go through my wardrobe and get rid of some of those "comfy" clothes.

So out came the clothes recycling bag and away I went with the same ruthlessness I apply to my exercise.. no excuses. So I now have a more streamlined wardrobe of clothing that fits.

Jacque and I went up to Mount Maunganui for 2 days to look at some cats (Orientals) that Jacque is looking at getting at Christmas. Very cute. He looks just like Tigger except his name is Mr Tumnus.

I had a bit of a shopping spree over this long weekend to get a couple of staple items to get me through to Christmas. Tidied up some items that needed to be hemmed, buttons resewn on etc.

A very productive weekend but oh so tiring.

That kitty is so cute! I would love to have a cat but unfortunately, I'm allergic.

And the end of another weekend....

Sunday, October 16, 2011

What a busy week.

Very sad as we had to have the old cat Zakkie euthanised. He was 17 and really frail, poor Jacque was so upset understandably. I hate having to do this, although I know it is the best thing to do for him it is so tough on us. The Vet was lovely and made it bearable.

So this weekend we have had lots of chores to do, to keep busy. Got rid of the old BBQ to make way for the summer. emoticon

Going up to the Mount this weekend to look at some kittens, emoticon as Jacque is still lost without Zakkie. We went to the pet shop to get a new catflap with a micro chip sensor in it for Kacey and nearly came home with a puppy. I nipped that in the bud real quick. So not ready for a dog yet, maybe next year.

Anyhoo that is it for me as I ma a tired wee bean sprout. emoticon

Mini Golf & Paintball

Saturday, October 08, 2011

I had a pretty shocking weigh in this week putting on weight....grrrr. But I am back on track with my food and exercise. Obviously the week off sick was no excuse and will have to work a little harder to recoup.

Yesterday was the first of the Corporate Business Games and my friend and I teamed up to play mini golf. We had an absolute blast and came third overall out of the 18 teams. So not bad for two fat old ladies. We both got a hole in one as well.

Today I went to play paintball for the first time. I was worried that I wouldn't fit into the jumpsuit but I did (just) and it was amazing. So much fun, even in the cold and rain. It was torrential at one point. I will have some lovely bruises coming out over the next few days as well. I will definitely do this again and will be able to fit into the jumpsuit much better!

So an all new week to go forth and conquer!

Long time no see...

Thursday, September 29, 2011

Wow this has been a really busy month and then poof its all over tomorrow. Last week was a bit of a downer week as I thought I had done so well and when I weighed in I hadn't lost any weight! It was so disheartening as I had not cheated, I had exercised and nada, zip zilch emoticon.

But I didn't throw in the towel, as I have made the committment that this is now my lifestyle. Just because things didn't go my way, I am not going to have a tante, but just accept that week is gone and moving forward is all good. I am still well on track to my target goal of losing 4 kgs in a month.

So today when I got on the scales I had lost my 1kg that I wanted to lose and that I am still well on track for my Christmas goal. Halfway there only another 2 months to Christmas emoticon.

It is hard but I can do this! emoticon

I can definitely relate to all the hard work and no movement on the scales, but I have seen other times where the work pays off later... so keep up the new walk, it will pay dividends for the rest of your life.
luvin your blog! emoticon
