Looking for "Get your SparkPoints"

Monday, July 08, 2013

I know that I am a SparkPeople family member for sure now. Today is my birthday and I received a birthday message from I was surprised and delighted. "How thoughtful", I thought. However, I looked to the end to click on a "Get your SparkPoints". Of course, it was not there. I laughed at myself! I am indoctrinated into getting those Spark points! LOL!

Accumulating those points is addictive, isn't it?
Have a great day!

Up with one, down with the other!

Saturday, June 15, 2013

I bragged too much and too soon!

I improve with one option and go down with the other. I mean that I want to cover 10,000 steps every day and drink 8 glasses of water every day. Why is that so hard for me?

Okay, I had one glorious day where I drank 8 glasses of water but no more! My steps have improved now that I have the Fitbit Flex. How about a Flex for drinking water? I have got to improve with my water drinking!

Of course, drinking water is not the only improvement that I need to make but it glares at me every day. It would be a start! It sucks to be me right now!

It takes a while to be consistent, but you will get there. One trick I use to drink 8 cups a day is to use the one cup measuring cup. If I am exercising then it is really easy to hit that quota. I have also read that some people drink water first and after they reach their goal, they reward themselves with something else.

I do not have a fitbit but I have heard really good things about them. Before I started running I used to aim for 10,000 steps a day and boy was it a challenge to get the steps in everyday. Some nights I would have to walk in place at night while I watched one of my shows.

Thanks for sharing.

I had so much trouble "putting it all together" that I finally threw everything out and focused on ONE THING. For weeks my ONE THING was just tracking my nutrition. Once that was a fully ingrained habit I added ONE THING - getting 10 minutes of exercise. Sometimes the new habit took very little time to become natural, and sometimes it took WEEKS, but eventually all those little changes added up to a healthy lifestyle.

Hang in there - personal change is one of the most difficult things we can do, but you ARE making it happen!

I did it!

I drank 8 glasses of water today! Yes! Big deal for me! I'm on my way to success! I hula hooped for 30 minutes and exercised for 10 minutes of my Wave!
This may not seem like much but it's a great start for the new me! More to come.

Plateau Busting

Tuesday, June 04, 2013

Okay. I am starting this 4 week plateau busting thing. I thought that I'd mix it up because I have lost all motivation! My first and main focus will be to get the 8 glasses of water down! That's a nice baby step. I drank 5 glasses today so 8 is on the way.
Next? No next! Baby steps!

Okay, hula hoop for 30 minutes everyday. But what about my knitting? I can't even stand and knit so hula hooping while knitting is out of the question. I've got so much that I want to knit and so little time!

Back to Spark People! I'm writing it down so I mean it. Eight glasses of water and 30 minutes of hula hooping. Maybe I'll teach myself the "lasso" and without breaking anything!

As far as TV, I have almost caught up on my "Psych" episodes. Why did I wait? They are so funny! Less TV also!

Change my workout?

Wednesday, May 01, 2013

I've got to adhere to my workout. I've got to write it down in details and not just say: cardio day, strength day! I've got to be specific and detailed!

The first agreement of the "The Four Agreements" is: "Be Impeccable with Your Word". That's what I have got to do. Make a specific workout plan and commit to it every single day.

Okay, I've got a job to do and I will see the rewards. Where's Spark Guy's new book? I'm ready for it. I need it.
