illness side tracking

Saturday, August 04, 2012

I had fallen off the band wagon for a while after getting sick. I found that I would go to work, come up and immediately go to bed without any exercising or tracking. I am now finding it is really tough trying to get back into the swing of things.

Just the fact that you logged in and added this new blog shows you're moving in the right direction. You may not be fully over your illness either, which is why you're not able to motivate yourself more. Be kind to yourself. You'll get there.

If you need to, start with small steps. Don't expect to start at the same intensity you were when illness intervened. emoticon

disappointed in the drought

Saturday, July 21, 2012

I am so disappointed in the drought we are having - I had gotten into a CSA - it's been helping me with my weight loss, getting all the fresh veggies. I've had 4 out of 10 scheduled shipments for the year, but just got an e-mail stating that they are canceling the rest for the year!

quote of the day

Wednesday, July 18, 2012

It is not work that kills men, it is worry. Work is healthy; you can hardly put more on a man than he can bear. But worry is rust upon the blade. It is not movement that destroys the machinery, but friction.
Henry Ward Beecher
