5K Training Done ~ Day 68 - 71

Things got a little busy and I did not have the time to jump on here and type anything. That is when I thought about and realized that has happened to often lately. So it must be time for a change. That means this will be my last entry for my training.

Day 68 Thursday ended up as a rest day. I was at my son's school from 8:45am to 6:30pm for a fundraiser.

Day 69 Friday I went to the gym I did 60 minutes on the elliptical actually 65 since after the 60 there was a 5 minute cool down the machine started on me. I also did 30 minutes of strength training.

Day 70 Saturday was a really different kind of work out. We bought my daughter a bedroom set that is solid maple and my sister and I picked it up and brought it to my house carrying it upstairs and setting it up. We also had to take her old items out and switch box springs and mattress between mine children. It was a work out!

Day 71 Sunday. I wanted to wrap this up on a very positive note. I got on my treadmill and did not get off until I reached a 5K distance. I did a combination of walking and running. I did try to run for long time frames and I feel I did well.

Today I did a zumba class. It was a really good work out. I have not been to a regular zumba class for awhile.


5K Training ~ Days 65 & 66

So Monday day 65 I took my dog for a walk and that was it. We did get snow and freezing rain so I did not go to zumba at night.

Today day 66 I went to the gym. The roads had slush and wet so I could not take the dog for a walk. I did only do 30 minutes of cardio then some strength.

I have been sick so I am trying not to over due anything. I did get hot and sweaty pretty quickly when doing my cardio.

Every time I go to the gym I still feel a little uneasy. I know as I progress I will get more used to be there. I did realize today as I looked around others that they seem to maybe uneasy also. So I try to remember I am not the only one, I'm not alone. Then I try to keep a friendly look on my face. I feel that maybe it will help them and me feel better. I also saw 2 more people I know that are members there. One got right on the elliptical right next to mine. Not all the comfortable since I don't know him well. In the end when I was wiping down my machine I did say hi to him an talk to him some. I guess it is nice to know people when you go places.



5K Training ~ Days 62, 63 & 64

Well I had a busy weekend and did not bother to say anything about my training all weekend. So it is catch up time.

Day 62 Friday was and it was strength training. My sister went to the gym with me again and we did 40 minutes of cardio and then a full body strength training.

Day 63 Saturday was a rest day and I did not even take the dog for a walk.

Day 64 Sunday aka today. I ran on my treadmill. I should have done a 5 minute warm up, 30 minute run and a 5 minute cool down. I have been fighting off a cold or something that we have all been battling in my house so my energy level was down and I thought for a while about just not running at all. However I didn't really want to do that so I sucked it up. Still I ended up walking a little a couple of times I did reach 2 1/2 miles for distance. I did also take the dog for a walk and that is about a mile so all together I did about 3 1/2 miles today.

I can't be mad at myself for walking some. I am moving and training very well and the end result is to be healthy and complete a mud run. To be honest it doesn't matter to me if I walk/run, run or simply walk the whole mud run. I just want to complete the challenge!



5K Training ~ Day 61

Day 61 and today I did zumba. I was tired, it is cold here I really didn't feel like changing and leave the warm house to go. I thought about my goals and I bundled up and went. We had a good class and I feel I did well. I had more energy then I thought I would.

Another great day of training!
