good news

He did show up after I wrote yesterday (thanks for the support). He was very cold and today he was still cold . Cheryl set up a heater by the cat shelter and I guess he was thirsty as he seemed more interested in drinking than in the food.

So glad "your" kitty returned. Isn't it a great feeling when those fur-balls come to feel safe with us? If you can rig up a light fixture, those old fashioned incandescent bulbs give off a fair amount of heat. (We use one in the winter to keep our outside water pump from freezing.) emoticon

Poor kitty. Can you put a light in his shelter. We dad used to put lights in the dog houses and they would put off heat when it was cold. It probably is hard to find unfrozen water outside when it's below freezing.

Sad Because of Happy

Tuesday, December 03, 2013

There was a cat that we were feeding as he was homeless and starving , My daughter named him Happy as he had a white band across his chest that looked like a smile and white paws (the rest of him was black). I built a shelter for him but I do not think he ever used it.He used to show up after 5 like clockwork. No sign of him. We had a very bad snowstorm so I don't know if he succumbed to the cold or if he got hit by a car or what befell him.

I'm so sorry but don't give up hope. I also had a cat that I trapped, neutered and vaccinated and then disappeared for almost a year! Then, like a miracle, he came back!! I don't know where he went but he's here and I still feed him!! I hope he comes back and at some point, if you can trap him, get him shots and neutered. It will prolong his life and make him healthier. There are organizations that will help with that too! Good luck. I hope he comes back!!!

tirade of the day

Tuesday, November 19, 2013

I am SO PISSED OFF at the idiots that say they are so called experts on this site and
put the WRONG answers to the trivia questions. There was one STUPID one today and there was NO REFERENCE to it on the site AT ALL. When I did a web search for it I based MY ANSWER on the INTERNET. GUESS WHAT? I GOT IT WRONG (or rather that's what the pillocks here said).

I wish they would make reference on where we can get more information on answers they give.

All of my questions were about caffeine. The one I got wrong, I would love to research (horribly, I can't even tell you what it was about now that at least 15 minutes have passed). Oh it was about caffeine and endurance training. I know I got it wrong, but I still would like more info on it.

I would also like to see the list of questions I've answered today after I have answered 3 correctly of course. I can't even hit the back button. UGH!

snow

We have a feral cat that hangs around as he was starving and the wife started to feed him I spent a lot of my spare time (what's THAT) last week trying to build him a shelter as its gotten cold this week. I feel really sorry for him- its criminal that people have pets and then just dispose of them. Sorry I really need to update the cat wall part of my photos as the daughter got 4 kittens since Sam died and they have all grown up.

I feel sorry for feral cats too and stray dogs. Their life expectancy is really short.

The Final Inspection

Tuesday, November 12, 2013

THE FINAL INSPECTION

The soldier stood and faced God,
Which must always come to pass
He hoped his shoes were shining,
Just as brightly as his brass.

'Step forward now, you soldier,
How shall I deal with you ?
Have you always turned the other cheek ?
To My Church have you been true?'

The soldier squared his shoulders and said,
'No, Lord, I guess I ain't.
Because those of us who carry guns,
Can't always be a saint.

I've had to work most Sundays,
And at times my talk was tough.
And sometimes I've been violent,
Because the world is awfully rough.

But, I never took a penny,
That wasn't mine to keep...
Though I worked a lot of overtime,
When the bills got just too steep.

And I never passed a cry for help,
Though at times I shook with fear.
And sometimes, God, forgive me,
I've wept unmanly tears.

I know I don't deserve a place,
Among the people here.
They never wanted me around,
Except to calm their fears.

If you've a place for me here, Lord,
It needn't be so grand.
I never expected or had too much,
But if you don't, I'll understand.

There was a silence all around the throne,
Where the saints had often trod.
As the soldier waited quietly,
For the judgment of his God.

'Step forward now, you soldier,
You've borne your burdens well.
Walk peacefully on Heaven's streets,
You've done your time in Hell.'
