szechuan disaster

Friday, April 12, 2013

Well someone decided that they were going to go to a chinese smorg tonight- I tried to eat reasonable - not always easy. Not to mention what they put in their "food".
I should have begged off as I hurt my hip somehow anyway of a party of 6 THREE of them were diabetics, I thought this was a totally irresponsible place to go to eat in hindsight anyways. Have a great weekend!! Snow here tomorrow and Sunday.

Sorry you had such a bad experience. We had one day of snow this winter - on Christmas day. The end. We have had more rain than usual and it's been cold up until today-- which was warm and sunny. Get back on your regular diet and remember where NOT to eat again. Hope the rest of your weekend is super!

That kind of food can be bad for you. Some places around here have some nice fresh choices available though. At least tomorrow is a new day :-)

Happy Easter

Friday, March 29, 2013

Well today is interesting as I am TRYING to be a "good" boy today (including the traditional Good Friday fast- therefore NO RED MEAT its funny how much I miss bacon and beef and its only been ONE day) it might have been better for me if someone hadn't decided against my making (healthier(BAKED) ) salmon loaf in favour of frozen bread cod filets (YUCK). Its just not the same for me to have eggs for breakfast and no bacon (yeah I admit it Iam spoilt).

Happy Spring

Thursday, March 21, 2013

Well its supposedly the second day of spring today. You wouldn't know it by looking outside - we have got about a foot of snow (AT LEAST) since last week. Its disgusting. The only saving grace is that my back stopped hurting (FOR NOW). I still get the odd twinge in between my should blades but I can live with THAT demon. I will post some pictures perhaps tomorrow. TGTF.

Everyone is longing for spring this year. I remember about 7 years ago when I first move back to LI, NY we had tons of snow and I couldn't wait for spring especially coming up from a warmer VA. But, I am retired and don't have to go out in it unless I want to. When we got that 3" of snow last month my car was buried for 4 days - I can imagine how it was in the Big Apple! I have a feeling it is going to be super hot this summer and then we will pray for Autumn. I hope you have a glorious day tomorrow filled with joy, happiness and love...LI, NY sends you a wave...

We are under a winter storm warning from 10 A.M. today till 7 A.M. tomorrow. We may get 6 inches of snow. UGH. This is southern Illinois, not Alaska!!

I'm glad your back is better.

The warm sun when it comes will warm up your back and soothe it :)

Hello again

Wednesday, March 13, 2013

Well I think I finally figured out why I have been a (progressively worse) cripple this week - I guess it serves me right to being bullheaded and moving a treadmill this weekend (into the house by myself mostly including the stairs). I am going to be even more stupid and pump iron tonight as so far doing nothing and eating painkillers like they were M&M's (remember those - sure you do !!) -I should ask Dr House for some Vicodin.

Be careful. Don't do more than your body can handle. You'll be great, just hang on and keep moving!

OUCH that must really hurt. Take care of yourself. Rest ing when in pain is as much of the routine as working out.

LOL. I remember M&Ms. They were my vicodin. I was formerly addicted to them. Ate a bag of peanut ones every day back in the good old days.

Why???? If you are still hurting from something you did over the weekend, perhaps you should stick to cardio and gentle strength training while the muscles heal?

You will feel better and make progress as long as you stick with your good habits, but you don't need to abuse yourself!

Awkward but good for my soul

Wednesday, March 06, 2013

Well as its Lent, we went and did ( what was a one time a commoner thing) to our church the diocese had a "confession day" (where the parish priest is supposed to hear confessions today and supposedly be available for a 12 hr window- I know I am not doing a good job of explaining it). Anyway its the one thing I really have mixed feelings about at times. Especially when you know the clean feeling ain't gonna last.

LOL. Planning on sinning again right away? LOL. My dad and brother are Catholics. I'm not. I always wondered about their confessions. Jeff's language would curl anyone's hair and Dad is really wild and is quite the commandment breaker. I guess it gives the priest something a little more interesting to hear than my 87 year old God mother confessing to being rarely cranky and snappish.
