You know what I STILL don't get is why time goes by SO FAST when you don't want it to and so SLOW sometimes at work??

I know I just pissed off some people but I couldn't help myself.....

There was a Sparkpeople BLOG that was entitled "Have Fun and Stay Safe in the Summer Heat" which then asked what I thought was STUPID question "what do you do to stay cool" (oh I just play wax candle and melt on the sidewalk!!! ) so I went and posted
" I stay in my IGLOO or find a walrus to shade under."
One of my Dad's uncles was an airline pilot (in the late 50's and early sixties) and he had some tourists show up in SUMMER with parkas and skis expecting it to be winter. Also my daughter's ex's Mom was complaining she could NEVER live in Canada its too cold. (I bet its not as different to Atlanta as you might think ) Too bad they broke up before I could prove her wrong.
Before anyone decides to flame me -know this both of my Grandmothers were born in the US.

I have always been fond of igloos. My hubby made them as a child. It's probably kind of dangerous on retrospect. LOL.

Walruses have funky breath. I think I would shade myself under something else. LOL.

That is so funny about the parkas in summer. LOL.

I happen to like your igloo comment! It made me laugh! Some people are just clueless.

A better day.

Well today I didn't do a lot but I did walk over a couple of hours at a local park( and also tried to fit in as much stair climbing as I could !! ). So that was quite enjoyable I think I am going to work on the fence and a few other projects later on during the week and try to make use of this time off (instead of wasting it in front of the computer or the television- funny how the 2 most evil appliances as far as wasters of time go are related).

I think you did great today. You are right about our two evils, they take
up to much of our time.

I slept in today ( I think I got about eight and a half hours sleep) it was GREAT to get up late for a change. I went for a walk this afternoon and am planning to try to get in all my cardio today for a change I did a bit of gardening today although I didn't track it as I mostly watered. I am going to take next week off as my doctor advised me to to avoid getting an infection in my scalp. I have some things planned and am going to get a welders cap so I can keep any crap out of my wound as I think I have to go to work for the week after I can't go to get the stitches out until after the third of July.

You definitely need to keep it clean. Sounds like you had a great Sunday. Maybe you can sleep in some more this week.

back into the big ,mean world!!

Saturday, June 23, 2012

Well today I get to reap the "benefits" (or rather punishments) of my own base appetites ans my big mouth. I am hoping I don't regret what I am about to do later on today - in some ways I am placing my trust somewhat in the hands of complete strangers. I did so yesterday when I went ahead with my interview at the U of A inspite of feeling somewhat rough and looking like Frankenstein's monster (Nobody gets it right Frankenstein was the CREATOR not the name of the monster).
Today I am thinking of possibly going for a walk and or a bike ride and in addition I said I would meet up with a friend for coffee at 12:30 with a friend I used to work with (John used to work as an engineer in England for BT and London Transport).
Hope I don't get too many stupid looks. Mind you, know the intelligence of some people I likely will, Maybe I should just wear a hat!!

I read the book by Mary Shelley. It was rather cool in that it was a contest by some of the best authors of the time who were friends and amusing themselves on a holiday at Lord Byron's in Switzerland. She was basically a nobody but she totally blew them away with her horror story. So get out there and revel in your freakishness. The rest of us do. LOL.
