Some good news

Monday, August 30, 2010

I just bought a set of chest expanders on ebay (which I love to use even more than weights) I have had a set since I was 14 but one of the handles split last year (being plastic) and so i cant use them anymore. Looking forward to getting them - from a guy in old blighty (England).

My picture is of my tomcat Sam ( the orange brute) and my daughter's cat Anna. Actually they were both hers but she left Sammy behind when she moved out (my own cat Malcolm had died a couple of years ago and he and Sam were inseparable). They are both Maine Coons. Heather also has Anna's sister (Jade)- she is a torbie (cross between a tabby and a tortoiseshell- a very pretty cat even if she doesn't like me).

Little changes make big risks less daunting .

I did a thing today at work that took a great deal of courage- I laid a complaint against my rotten boss with the union. Perhaps that seems incongruous to some of you (BTW please don't reply if you are going to criticize unions etc- I am not interested)- hes been mistreating me on and off for over 3 years; but its been hard to garner the courage to stand up to him- I think that because I restarted this program that gave me the courage (amongst other things) to actually do it. I believe that if you change ONE thing positively in your life it changes other things (sort of synergy I guess) . At least thats my hope.

It takes courage to report someone and I'm glad you did - everyone should be treated fairly.

good luck

When we stand up for ourselves we send a message that we are worth being treated well (or at least fair). I hope it turns out well for you.

I come from a union family. You are doing the right thing. Why should one have to stand up against a difficult situation alone when you have a community who will stand along side you? IMHO, It is the same principle as being active in the Spark community. There, as here, we can see what collective actions among people involved with the same issues can achieve.

Hard to believe a whole week has gone by.. even though i don't always look forward to my walks I know they are a better use of my leisure time than TV or video games.

Well another day another walk , anyone else get the "walker's blues" (aka blisters)- takes all the fun out of walking for me even though I still TRY to go (this is something I KNOW I HAVE to DO for myself!) . I amlooking forweard to the day I can start jogging if I want to .... not to mention walks in the park. I still want to get cycling before the snow flies (hopefully not till November).
