A Happy Day

Monday, January 04, 2010

Today my new granddaughter comes home & I get to meet her. I just cant wait to hold her & spoil her & hand her back to her mom!! lol.. My daughter said once the Dr,clears her she wants to get healthy again. I told her I was hoping she would do just as she had said to me.. She is breast feeding but hey I did to with both my kids & that never stopped me from getting on with getting healthy. I had lost & regained but now with my knowledge I have now I can pass that to my daughter & WE both have Sparkpeople too..I Know she will make her goals..

Encouragement is the best gift a daughter could have from her mother. Remember she has to make her own mistakes along the way. It's our mistakes that makes us stronger. Chris, you are a terrific lady and mother with good advice. Yes, spoil those grand babies and smile a big smile when you hand 'em back over, he he!

Hugs,
Keke

Found old pic's of me.

Tuesday, December 29, 2009

As all can see on mypage where the pictures are. That I have been up & down the scale all my life!!.. AT last that road trip has ended.. I have changed so many times in my years in the pic's. it starts with me at 1 year old to age 37.( the cluster of pic's) In my photo gallery I have the rest of the years to date. But as I was looking at the pictures of me it really scared me. Wonder if I was still like I was in the past. I bet I would be on all kinds of medications to try to improve my life. The supplements to lose the weight OMG!! What a waste of money!.. I'm so glad I have done it. I'm so glad I now have Sparkpeople to keep me active & be HERE to help others meet there goals & stay healthy!!.. Hey ALL I'm here FOR YA!!!..Let's make this NEW YEAR the BEST Year to begin a new you too..;-)

It's funny; one of the strangest things to me about weight loss is how we see ourselves has such a direct impact on our physical presence. I think that's true for everyone on some level, but in our case it's rather ... literal.

I just spent a month back in North Carolina, and I enjoyed being back home without the old baggage of my weight loss/mom's death/all the internal struggles there weren't effecting me. All the old photos, memories ... aside from the joy of seeing old friends who are happy for how I transformed my life (after I transformed my body), I was left feeling very proud of myself.

The ups and downs of our bodies and goals for how we want our life to be can be scary or disheartening, but after eight years and a lot of reflection I realize it's actually a tremendous strength.

All of us has seen all the ups and downs, and guess what? We're still here, still striving, still making ourselves the most pristine and brilliant version of ourselves we can be. "Weight Loss" isn't really about the weight loss at all.

And best of all, we have a community of people to rely on, one just as dedicated to make their lives extraordinary too.

To 2010! Onward!

Old pictures of me.

Tuesday, December 29, 2009

I have found some 'Old pictures'Of me.. I as you can see have been up & down the scale. Never did I ever stay at my goal weight. I would always think that wow I did make it & NOW I can live happy.. HA that joke sure was on me. The weight returned every time. SO as the story is YUP I was once again on that ever so famous 'DIET'. Well I played that game for some time & Now I'm so glad that at last I have done it!! Yes I have kept it off & I NEVER dreamed I would at last keep it off. It starts with me at 1 yr old to age 37.. I got control with everything in 2003, & Have improved sence then. YES I was heavy in weight on the scales. I carried my weight in my tummy-arms- shoulders-breast-face & Ever so ugly BACK FAT!! I'm kinda tall I'm 5'7" & I carry my weight when heavy sucked in jeans that are too small & of course the vests I wore to hide a bit more of my rolls.Or I would wear a t-shirt that was big to hide even more.SO go see for yourself. This road of up & down has at LAST ended!!....;-) NOW I'm HAPPY!!! WOOHOO!!

Yes, I do the same thing with my pictures. It's called a collage. I scan, crop and add them on a pretty background. Thank you for sharing these pictures. It truly encourages others to visualize for themselves when they see a pictorial of your life. You're a beautiful person Chris!

I love seeing people's pictures. I need to get all of mine out and scan them. In fact, that is one of the things I'd like to accomplish before I die. Reason I use the term "before I die" is I have over 1000 and it will take forever.

I have reached my goal

Friday, December 11, 2009

Yeah I had reached my goal in weightloss & then some. I am in mainting & Yes I continue in my new way of life to live a healthy life style. I LOVE & look forward to my daily workouts.I dont have to go far cause the gym is in my home SO that means no excuse NOT to keep my body the way I like it.I NEVER thought I would ever lose the weight yet let alone be able to wear a 2 in size jeans!! Some say I'm too skinny. Others say I look HOT!! Well I feel great & when I look at old pics I just cant believe it was ME in the pictures I'm seeing. My mind says 'WHO IS THAT!'. But yes it WAS me & there is no way I'm turning back to that . Being as active as I am I'm keeping the medication that messes up what I have done away. I have fibro( I keep moving only take meds if needed for pain) & I also have epilepsy(which I have to control with meds). Nerve damage & I'm a cancer survivor. SO now I have added another title I have LOST the weight!.. I really needed to do it. All the wasted years of 'trying' to lose it & gave up. YOU have to really want to lose it & to do just that you have to stick with it no matter what.HMM so today I feel great.. Thanks to losing all the weight getting healthy & Yes to finding this site 3 yrs ago.. ;-)

WOW today it felt like I was dragging to get my workout done.. The weather is to blame. My fibro is hurting & I wont take the lyrica, for it. Exercise helps me alot with it. BUT when its cold a damp out, thats my enemy all the way.. But I can say yes I did get a good run in even though it took me a little bit longer than normal. I have to work today & I'll be on my feet cooking at the buffet. When I get home I'll take a hot shower take my pain meds(not lyrica) & get a good nights rest!;-)
