Feelin good!

Monday, August 16, 2010

I felt wonderful today! I had a ton of energy and got a lot of things done around the house. The best part of my day was when Mark told me that he could tell I was losing weight!! It made me feel so good!! He told me how proud he was of me and that he can't wait to see me on our wedding day "all dolled up"!

My Spark book is being delivered tomorrow. I can't wait to dive right in and start reading! Today was the first day I felt like this was a real life change for me and not just a diet. In the short week that I have been on SparkPeople.com I can already tell the difference in how I feel and how I look. I'M SO HAPPY!!!

Give Mark an extra kiss and hug....what a great guy to
encourage you like that.........and that he is looking
forward to your wedding day....gee whiz.......your man
should be molded in gold.

Since you have all this energy, Jessica, I can offer a
helpful suggestion....if you are up for a road trip you
can come over to my house and help me....LOL

You go girl......would love to see a pic of you and Mark
together.

You are indeed blessed.
Losing weight and a man that recognizes that....WOW

Bought my Pedometer!

Friday, August 13, 2010

I bought my pedometer today and already I love it! I find myself wanting to walk more just so that I can see the step count going up. HA HA! The one I got is very tiny and clips pretty much anywhere. I wish I had done this before!

We have a huge mud race tonight at our County Fair. I know Mark is going to want a funnel cake and other treats but I am making sure I pack some Craisins, soy nuts and other healthy goodies so that I can snack on them. I am also packing water to drink so that I'm not tempted to grab a sugary drink there! Wish us luck!!

Good for you to have a "plan of attack" before you actually get to the fair. That always helps me in tempting situations. Have fun!!!

I also am in love with a pedometer! It's the only thing in my life that was good for me that I developed an addiction to! :)

Hope the race and fair were a blast!

Ordered The Spark book today!

Thursday, August 12, 2010

I live in sort of a remote area and the only place we have around here to buy books is at Wal-Mart. Well, our local super center doesn't carry The Spark in stock so I ordered if off their website this morning. I can't wait for it to come in!!

I woke up this morning feeling really good. I don't know if it's from the exercise, the eating right yesterday, the extra water I'm drinking or the combination of ALL of it! I have to admit, drinking straight water is hard for me. I'm a huge Iced Tea fanatic and so drinking just plain water is difficult. LOL!

I think I'm already addicted to this site. I showed Mark all the goals I have and all around my personal page. He said he was really proud of me which of course made me feel wonderful! It makes it so much easier to have support when trying to go through this journey. Less than 2 months until our wedding....I've already done a countdown on the calendar. I'm so excited to finally be his wife!

I hate plain water myself. If you can find it, try TRUE LIME or TRUE LEMON packets. They are (I think) just dehydrated lime/lemon juice. No calories in a packet and makes the water tasty!!!! They have been a lifesaver for me! I'm from the South, so sweet tea runs through my veins!!

    Yeay!
I have it and bought it back in december. And literally, just last night opened it up to start reading it!!!!!

This site is VERY addicting!!! And, if you keep track and keep up with everything; I swear it will work! I lost 20lbs at first about 2 yrs ago. gained a few back, but determined to loose 10lbs again in the next two months.

Just be good about coming on here to post/log/etc.!

My first day

Wednesday, August 11, 2010

Well, it's my first day of a big change for me! I am doing this mostly to be accountable for my choices and to get support from others who are going through this journey with me.

Growing up I was very tiny. Even all through high school I remained very small. I was 5'3" and only weighed 87lbs. I had my first son at the age of 19 and at the time of getting pregnant with him I weighed around 105lbs. I gained A LOT of weight while I was pregnant and ended up being around 160lbs when he was born. I lost about 30 lbs but never could get back down to my pre-pregnancy weight. After the birth of my second son, I had gained even more weight and was almost 200lbs when he was born. I lost a lot of that weight and got back down to 150lbs.

I went through a divorce and yet another bad relationship while my children were growing up. I have 2 sons ages 15 and 9. I finally found my soulmate Mark and being happy in love caused me to gain a lot of weight. I also was diagnosed with PCOS and endrimetriosis. Another battle I have gone through is horrible anxiety. I was put on a medication to control it but a side effect is weight gain. Mark loves me the way I am. He actually loves my curves and doesn't want me to change. But I am unhappy with the weight that I am. We are getting married in October and I want to rock my dress and look FABULOUS!

Hey you know hardest part about all of this is getting started. It really has to be a whole new mindset. For me it isn't so much about the weight (although that is a perk ; D ) its mostly about wanting to live a healthier lifestyle. If you haven't yet I recommend taking a look at the spark recipe page. Not only are most of the recipes healthy but really tasty as well. Once you set your mind to it there isn't anything you can't do!

I found my soul mate when we were in high school. I guess I was smart enough to ask God for the right one before I started dating. I met him in youth class at church.

I too gained a lot of weight with childbirths and as I get older, it has been very hard for me to lose it and keep it off. I had polio as a child so I am limited in the exercises I can do. This makes it harder to burn the calories I eat and very easy to put on weight. My hubby and I decided it was time for both of us to get on the right track. We have been doing very well on our own but when we learned about SparkPeole we decided to try it. So far we love it. Great people that really help with their support.

Hang in there. I am sure you will do well.

I am so glad to hear you found your soul mate in Mark.

I was divorced for a long # of years before I met my
husband. I asked God for someone to love me as I am, and
not expect me to change for them, and he accepts me as I
am, but agrees with me if I want to lose for health issues,
then thats fine too.

You can do this...and we are here to support you thru it.
