Truck is ready to roll!
This might be my last blog for a couple of days, so please be patient. I'm frustrated because I won't have internet at home until Wednesday; couldn't get the company to come any sooner. I am very concerned about my online graduate course -- I won't be able to post my messages!! I did send an email to the professor so she'd be aware of the situation. Not that I expect her to "fix" my grade or anything..
I got more cardio in (moving boxes, of course!) and stayed hydrated today. Not all of it was water, though. Stopped by McDonald's and picked up a Dollar Menu UNSWEET tea. I don't know what it is about the south, but they put enough sugar in their tea to kill a horse! LOL (at least it tastes that way to me.) Then I found out (in my helath class at the university a while back) that a person could gain up to THREE pounds a year by putting 2 teaspoons of sugar into their coffee/tea every day. So I don't even use sweetener anymore (at least in my tea/coffee I don't.)
I'm exhausted, the dogs are freaked out (from being in a mostly empty room). We will have to make TWO trips tomorrow because we hit a snag with the driver of one of the vehicles. So, it will just be me & my dad unloading the moving van and his (newer) truck. Once we return the moving truck, we'll have to drive BACK here, pick up his older truck, AND my truck (along with the doggies) and head back out to my new apartment. Keep in mind that it's almost 2 hours each way!!
I'm signing off for now -- hope to catch up with you later!!
Keep reaching for your goals!

I actually wrote a blog last night, but got some kind of error message when I tried to post it. And instead of letting me go back & edit whatever it was that I did, I lost the entire entry...and was too stinkin' tired to redo it.
So -- Yesterday:
dropped dad off at work, picked up a load of classroom stuff from my storage unit and stacked it in the garage, ran some errands, picked dad up from work, had lunch together, picked up moving truck, dad leaves with moving truck, I made another (final) trip to storage unit to empty it out, got back to house, started loading moving truck (for about 2 hours), and was completely exhausted by evening!
Today -- Will have a load of laundry done by 7am, taking my bedding to laundromat, running errands, packing (still!), loading furniture in moving truck
Tomorrow -- Leaving at SIX IN THE MORNING! Not my choice, but it's almost a 2 hour drive, and dad wants to get there to unload while it's still fairly cool.
Won't have internet access for at LEAST 4 days after today -- so I won't be available for a while. I don't think I'll be able to access this site from work, but I'll see what I can do.
I met my August goal to lose 5 pounds! Actually I surpassed it! See it under 'my profile'.
The cardio I'm getting is from doing all this moving. I haven't been logging it in, though. Didn't feel the need to -- just knowing that I'm doing it has been enough for me.

Did more packing today. Made phone calls today. Drove 2 hours out to apartment -- well, let's back that up a bit....
Borrowed my dad's truck (it has A/C! and it's bigger than mine!) so I could start emptying my classroom stuff out of my storage unit. Ran a couple more errands, THEN drove 2 hours to new town. Stopped at the school first, picked up key to classroom, met a few more people from the staff, talked with the current sub about what they're teaching the kids right now, then it was off & running again. Next I drove out to the electric company to get that switched over starting Friday. Then it was on to the Water Company. Then I went to the local Post Office to pick up keys to the mailbox they have at the complex.
I was hoping to get to the Board Of Education to turn in that whole pile of paperwork, but they closed early, so I'll have to do that next week. (I called first to find out when they closed)
After that, I went back to the school, to unload the boxes from my storage unit. Stacked them up in my new classroom. (BOY is that school building old......)
Next, I went to the apartment complex...and signed my lease. Got keys, and went to go check it out -- I had even brought a dozen or so boxes from dad's garage to unload since I was gonna be there. Then -- a mini flood came...thunder, lightning -- the whole works. It just opened up and poured. I thought I could still unload some stuff during a break -- but then the power went out. So, I got back in the truck, called my dad to tell him that I couldn't unload due to the weather, and drove 2 hours back here.
My eyes are getting droopy. WAIT! They already ARE droopy!
Tomorrow, I'm getting up before the crack of dawn to take my dad to work, then I'll pick him up when his shift is over. From there, we pick up the moving truck. I have a library book to return (certainly don't want to move with that in a box!) and then will start loading the truck.
Friday I have an appointment in the morning, then I have to close out my Post Office mail box. Happily, I'll be getting a refund for the months I'm not using. OH -- and I'm going to be receiving a rebate on my rent from using a website to find the complex! Hooray!
I have GOT to get to bed...right after I take the doggies out.....

I packed until I literally ran out of boxes. I even packed up one of my suitcases. I made lots of phone calls, checking different stores to see if they had any boxes I could pick up. Also made the reservation for the rental truck. Got a great deal. Long story short, Uhaul (which is closer to me) matched Budget Truck's price (which was even better than using the 15% off coupon I had!)
In the afternoon, I left to run errands before my first day of graduate class. I did pick up some boxes from the local Wal-Mart, paid a bill, stopped at the Post Office to get my mail, had some dinner (Wendy's value menu!) then it was off to class. I finished the assignment early, and was allowed to leave. I then went to the local clinic (open late) to get a physical -- yet another thing needed for the new job. Had to get a TB skin test, too. I'll have to go back tomorrow to let them check it (it's fine) and pick up the form they filled out so I can turn it in with all the other paperwork they gave me.
My class went well -- the professor is giving us class time to complete the assignment. And if we get it done in a certain amount of time, there's a class that we won't have to attend. Which will be great for me, since after this week I'll be driving 2 hours to get there! And you know what?? That former co-worker dropped the class! She must've done the same thing I did (look at the class roster) and saw my name. Who knows?!
The 2nd class I have is completely online. And it's going to be a doosey. (spelling??) I think that class in particular is going to take away some of the time I spend here on SP -- so please don't fret if I don't post as often. But please do keep checking on me! Make sure I'm not drowning in paperwork! :)
Getting busy today: packing, packing, packing. Oh yeah, then there's the 2 chapters I have to start reading for my online class (which needs to be finished by next week!) I'm feeling the pressure already.
I won't actually be moving until Saturday. Which means I'll have less time to set up my classroom before I start on Monday. I was planning to take one day this week and go out there to turn all this paperwork in, and to sign my lease -- but the apartment isn't ready yet...at least they haven't called to tell me that it's ready yet. I wanted to get the electric & water switched over, and contact the cable company before Saturday. Will have to wait and see. Maybe they'll call today, and I can drive out there tomorrow. That would be good.
Only cardio I'm getting is moving these boxes down the stairs and stacking them in the garage!!!
