Counting down 'til surgery

Just finishing up last bit of laundry -- which consisted of dog towels, bedding, etc. Gizmo is back from the groomer, and Cassie is clean as of this morning.

I am pretty sure that I have everything -- for BOTH events. I leave for my grad class (Land Between the Lakes) on Saturday; I'm very excited about that!

I still need to run around and unplug (almost) everything. Also will raise the thermostat for the A/C up to about 82 or so. Dropped off the recycling this morning. Stopped the mail at the Post Office.

I will post when and if I can while I'm gone. Tomorrow I find out what time I have to be at the hospital for surgery. Which will clue me in as to when I leave my grad class to head back -- but I'm thinking that I'll just come back very early on the 18th -- the day of the actual surgery. Remember, I won't go in until the afternoon sometime -- this is done to make use of my 23 hours of observation included in my 'out-patient' surgery stuff. I will stay overnight, and come home (to my dad's) on the morning of the 19th.

I'll post when and if I can!

Oh yeah -- I've lost 2 pounds!!! WHOO HOOOOOOOO

Seven days and counting.....

Getting last minute things together to take to Dad's for my jaw surgery. Throwing last minute things in suitcase for my grad class trip. More nervous about getting it all done, and not forgetting anything. Tonight is the last night I'll spend in my apartment for the rest of this month. Weird.

First thing tomorrow morning Gizmo goes to the groomer! But I'll drop off my recycling stuff before I drop her off. Then, (after dropping her off) it's off to the Post Office and the laundro-mat. Gotta wash all of the dogs bedding. When I get home, Cassie gets a bath. Then going to wash the 'dog towels'. Then I myself will get cleaned up, and do a load of my own laundry. Gotta pick Gizmo up at 10AM from the groomer. Then I'll finish packing, load up my vehicle, and head out........

Today I mailed off a couple of bills, got a couple of Rx's filled, and went to the store where I picked up a cute little loungewear set. The top is a tank -- I figured that would be easy to go over my head in case I have a lot of swelling from the surgery.

On another note, I do know that on Tuesday, (this is during my grad class trip) we're going on an all-day canoe trip. I am looking forward to this. It will be my fourth time in a canoe. I have also already seen some of the "goodies" we'll be getting. Oh -- reminds me -- gotta get a permanent marker to take with me!

I have been the exact same weight since I started back over with this. No higher, no lower. Very strange. I haven't been eating as much, either. I'll weigh myself again in the morning, and log it in here.

What day is it?

Wednesday? No, wait -- it's Tuesday. Sheesh. I've been pretty much unproductive today. However, I'm pretty darn sure that I am under my caloric intake, as I didn't eat much today.

I did contact my satellite company to suspend my account while I'm gone for grad class & surgery. I have lots to do on Thursday before I head back out of town. I might get out to do some of it tomorrow.

I decided to call my mom & leave her a message for her to call me....she doesn't yet know that I'm having the surgery. She isn't going to like it....

I can't do any more laundry until Thursday, so I can finish packing for my grad class. Don't want to run out of clothes before then -- or I'll have to unpack my suitcase! LOL

OH -- I did send an email to the parent company of my apartment complex about an unresolved issue. They sent my email to the national and district level people of the company...was told I should hear from them by Thursday. I hope so, since that's when I'm leaving!

I got my electric bill in the mail, and I'm using less wattage -- which translates into a lower bill. Even though school's out and I'm home, I haven't been turning on lights during the day, I changed the time on my lamp timer to only run from about 7:30 pm - 10:15 pm, and I wash most of my clothes in cold water. I also unplug most of my smaller things (phone charger, a couple of small lamps, etc) when they're not being used. I'm looking forward to seeing even lower bills next month, since I'm going to be gone for the rest of this one!

I got my dad to start saving his cans for me, so I can take them to the recycling center. His newspaper, too (which he only gets on the weekends). I had previously given him a couple of those 'swirly' light bulbs, which he's told me that he is now using. Hooray! It's in the small things...if we all pitched in, what a difference it could make!!

Another Monday already?

So I got my surgical hooks on today at the orthodontist....9 days 'til surgery. The hooks are for attaching the rubber bands (hopefully!) or wires to keep my mouth shut as I recouperate.

Yesterday, I had a heck of a migraine....even caused me to get exremely sick. I went to bed at 8:30 last night. My head hasn't hurt that bad in a very long time. I had taken some ibuprofen, but that didn't even touch it. Got a cool rag for my head and face -- that didn't work either. It was awful.

I met with my advisor today, to make some corrections to my degree program. Also to discuss some stuff that I'll be missing next week (my grad class at 'camp') due to the surgery. I have a project to put together. Not a big deal, just something that I'll do in my classroom -- incorporating the things I've learned with these classes.

I'll be leaving again this Thursday evening for my Dad's. I got a dial-up connection set up, but it disconnected me twice. Not sure how good the connection will be as I recouperate.

Actually, I typed a blog last night from my Dad's...but when I went to post it, I got booted off the internet. Dial up...........

So - not much going on. Just out running errands, picking up a few things that I'll be needed for recouperating -- sherbert, ice cream, etc.

Am using a friend's computer now, may not get back on here until sometime Monday evening.
