I had a great day yesterday with my BFF. We went shopping and for lunch. Funny, we both skipped dessert. Very unusual. In fact, I was surprised. I stared at the dessert menu for a full 5 minutes and then decided nothing there was worth the calories. I had a delicious cobb salad, worth every calorie. It was so good, in fact, I didn't need to try to top it. Usually the dessert is the best part of the meal to me. I have noticed, however, that I am not as interested in it as I once had been. Real food has become much more tempting to me since I have started on this healthful journey. Even foods I previously disdained like brussel sprouts. I found I love them roasted with garlic and olive oil. I am thinking today I will roast broccoli. Oh, and corn on the cob. I just remember I have some in the fridge. DH is away so I can have a veggie day. He likes meat more than I do and wants it at every meal. Or I can even have a lite hot dog...also in the fridge. No need for fast food. I have it right here.
