In Remission and doing well!

I have been in remission from breast cancer for about two months now. Since then, I have been working out almost on a daily basis. Walking, core rhythms, tae bo, the eliptical, biking, and turbo jam. I have changed my eating habits, incorporating more fruits and veggies and less fat. The scale hasn't moved, but my clothes are looser, and I look slimmer! There is life after cancer, and I am grateful for every day! emoticon

    Movement does make a big difference! Thanks for your comment! I was able to work mostly through my eight months of treatment, except for chemotherapy. I think that your friend who was able to work through her treatment for colon cancer is a superstar!

    Hooray! Physically moving and getting out makes a huge difference. I know a woman who worked out all through some major chemo for colon cancer! She was amazing. Keep moving, keep tracking!

Well, I've been out of the loop for a while, due to school starting back and my cat passing from lymphoma. I also have been having problems with my foot, plantar faciatis, so my exercise has been erratic. However, I did gain two pounds, then lost three! Yea! I have been trying to watch what I eat, and will now start tracking again.

After being told by my poditrist that I have plantar faciatis, and that the only exercises that I can do are biking, the eliptical, and swimming, I was stumped. The nearest swimming pool to swim laps in is 25 minutes away, and I don't have an eliptical. It has been too hot to bike, but I did so this morning! Yea! When i go to my next appointment, I will see if I can do yoga and pilates too.

Had some tests taken yesterday at the doctor's. Everything is fine. Check back with them in six months, and to continue my diet and exercise!


Alzheimer's Association Memory Walk Team

I have just started a team named Glimmer (as in glimmer of hope) for the Alzheimer's Association Memory Walk. It will take place at Marietta Middle School in historic Marietta on Saturday, October 10. I am looking for at least 10 team members, who can hopefully raise donations of $100 each. If we start now, we can raise the money! The walk will be between 1 to 3 miles. I would love for you to be on my team! Here is the link:
