I'm starting to gain in confidence finally since losing weight.. I have been struggling but now I'm on the right track and still struggling but losing now..Feels so great because , i'm begining to like myself alot more and I'm not backslidding now simply because I am taking care of me..I am taking care of me like I would my husband or children, watching out after me and talking to myself like I would them...

My Husband , my friend ?

I know my husband is my friend but when it comes to weight loss, I need a new friend...He has always been against my weight loss efforts. I would go on a diet and he would go out and buy danish, donuts and cake..I am going to learn how to handle him and then maybe I can lose this weight..If I stress about it I will gain in the tummy, and guess how I know ? I need to relax and think about this and what I can do about it..Gonna be working on it !

    I have the same problem! While my husband doesn't go out and buy danishes and cookies he is definitely not supportive with the healthier meals. Neither are my children. When I make something healthy and ask how it is, my husband usually responds with "It's not my favorite". That is if he's not irritated because the children aren't eating it. I typically feel pressured to make recipes that are child pleasing instead of healthy.

    Maybe if you don't talk to him about dieting he won't try to sabatoge you?
Some men are also afraid when women diet they won't get to eat their favorite foods any more! They think they will be somewhat forced to do without mashed potatos & gravy or foods that they are used too!
One trick I used on mine is to fix my mashed potatoes with half mashed cauliflower & serve a tasty low fat gravy! No complaints. I've also snuck in veggie crumbles to chili & tacos. He never even knew!
Yes, we need to really love ourselves enough to put our health first.

Much needed

I was listening to a video on sparkpeople today and learned something I needed to learn...I learned that its harder to get weight off if you have gotten far away from your normal weight and also the longer you stay overweight the harder also...I'm happy to have learned this and maybe now I can tell my self that its gonna be hard, work is involved...Because sometimes I think after a week or two I should be finished...I need to face the fact that this is gonna be hard and prepare mysellf to work hard every day !

I just ordered a new video, its the new dance moves .I have always wanted to learn the new dances and now is my chance to do it. Supposed to work on certain area's as well as cardio. I can't wait and it may come tomarrow, I'm so excited !..Keep you guys posted by telling you all about it...

I have figured out how to get myself to do what I want to do ( well maybe not always) . I have worked hard and now I feel like a detective and I've cracked this case..But its becoming easier to stay on my diet now , I have proof --I lost about 8 lbs...It really is becoming an adventure and I'm starting to love the challenge.....

  I am real good about doing cardio, but nothing else ..I need to firm up bad but I have had shoulder surgery and think I can't do certain things. So I really just give up and give in to the fact that I can't do anything but cardio..I could firm up my legs , do sit ups, firm up my butt. Many things I can do , but i do nothing...Still working on this
