So, my boyfriend's parents are in town and they asked to meet us for dinner at an Italian restaurant known for it's humongous portions! I've been there once, and I had chicken parm (the size of my head), salad, and bread. Now, I'm all for not depriving oneself, but I know it's going to be hard to resist stuffing my face. So, my plan is to have one piece of bread, the entire salad (with dressing on the side and fat-free or low sodium if available), some (maybe half?) of my entree, and only water to drink. I'll bring the rest home for tomorrow. Wish me luck! :)

You know that song? It's in my head but I don't really know what it's about. Anyway, my weekend was crazy because after playing softball on Friday, I was SO sore. I could not believe it, but then again, I haven't played in about 6 years. I was the catcher, so I did a lot of half-squatting and throwing. It was really fun though and I know I won't be as sore the more I play. It was really good exercise too. The team is all guys except for me, which was interesting. They've all played together for years, and this is my first year on the team. They weren't condescending at all (like some guys can be sometimes); they were really encouraging and they gave me lots of good pointers. I don't pretend to know all the rules or be the best. But I know I'm a good athlete in general and I find it really fun to play sports! I'm looking forward to the rest of the season!

Who doesn't get happy at the word, "Friday"? Well, OK, I know there are people who work on the weekends. I used to be one of them. I worked on Sundays for years. Anyway, it's Friday and the week went by pretty fast, considering I didn't have much work to do. I really hope my softball game doesn't get canceled. It's the first one of the season and it's my first season playing. Wish me luck!

I'm proud of myself. About an hour after I ate my healthy lunch, I was feeling in the mood for chocolate or something else sweet. I decided to have a no sugar added hot chocolate, which has only 60 calories. It also has a lot of calcium, AND it was free because they supply them here at my office. It did the trick and suppressed my craving. I'm patting myself on the back.

I went to the gym after work yesterday. I was hoping it wouldn't be too crowded, since the weather was so "nice" out. (Yes, I like the sun and clear skies, but not 90+ degrees!) I was right...I got a good elliptical (working TV, the brand I like, but no movable arms), and I didn't have to wait for it at all. Then, I did my nautilus circuit of 6 machines. I felt great afterwards. Today I'm a tiny bit sore in my pecs (I have pecs?) but nothing bad at all. :) I'm excited because my first softball game is on Friday, so that'll be my second workout for the week. Plus, it's outside and I'm going to meet my team members. I haven't played softball in years. It should be really fun!
