TIRING DAY

Monday, September 19, 2011

I unexpectedly got called into work at 5:20 am, I got the call. I didn't go to bed until late as I wasn't expecting to go into work, but money is money. I was with a group of emotional support K-3 children. It was a pretty trying day.

DD and I went to Zumba and it was warmer in there than usual and I did not feel like I had a lot of energy. I did do everything, but not with a lot of spark.

Anyhow, I wore a pair of my fat size 12 pants today. They were almost falling off of me and I was tripping over them in heels. I just have to remind myself that no matter what the scale states on Thursday, I am heading in the right direction.

MIL is doing wonderful. DH and children went to see her and she has made a miraculous recovery. All that stress and worry for nothing --- at least this time we dodged another bullet. Thank you for all your concern.

WooHoo to YOU !! Roc

The scale is not the only "weigh" to measure how successful you are. You are well on your way to success as the only failure is giving up!

THE STEELERS WON!

Sunday, September 18, 2011

I am trying to think of some positive things today. The Steelers won which makes the whole town happy. You have to live here to understand this. My MIL has another bout with pneumonia, but the nursing home feels they caught it quickly and they started her on IV antibiotics. DH is ok, but has a hard time dealing with bad health issues with his mother. His mother is 92, but I think it is the only child thing. His father passed away when he was in his 30's and he and his mother have always been close. We will get through this.

FAMILY NIGHT AT THE NURSING HOME

Thursday, September 15, 2011

Tonight was Family Night at the nursing home that my MIL is in. They had hot dogs, hamburgers, kolbassi, macaroni salad, baked beans, chocolate and lemon pie. The food was good and they had entertainment. A man did I guess what you could call karoke, He was really, really good. Had a good voice. We all had such a good time. I was actually dancing. He played the hokey pokey, the twist, the chicken dance and the cupid shuffle. My DD, my friend and I did the cupid shuffle. My friend's brother taped it on his phone. My MIL is doing well and it is comforting to know she is being taken care of very well.

Sounds like everyone had fun. I know that you are relieved that your MIL is doing well and that the home sounds like a nice one. Never heard of the "Cupid Shuffle" emoticon

My mother is in a wonderful nursing home. They have a lot of activities and do a very good job taking care of her.

WATCHING DANCE MOMS

Wednesday, September 14, 2011

Even though I just got done with zumba, I thought I would blog about something else. My family and I are hooked on "Dance Moms" that is on Lifetime. We honestly did not know when we first started watching it that it is the studio that is right down the street from us. It is an addicting show. LOL

Another 60 minute zumba in. They are changing the days in October. I think they are switching the Wednesday to Thursday which is our WW day, so we may have to switch WW to Saturday mornings. It may work out better because it is hard going to zumba and WW and coming home and figuring out what to quickly make for dinner.

I watch it, too, but it gives me pause. What is our nation coming to when parents/people act the way they do. NO wonder kids are more and more plagued by behavior problems. Yikes!

I love Dance Moms - I make myself do free step on Wii Fit while I watch so at least I'm getting some exercise.

Have a good day!

TWO SOCKS FOR ZUMBA

Monday, September 12, 2011

Since my feet burn/ache so bad doing zumba, I decided to try wearing two pairs of socks. This has helped. I wear a pair of my DD old sneakers and they are a little big, so this has worked out well.

I did go and see about specific shoes for zumba, but since my DD got shoes, mine were not in the budget this time.

I do enjoy doing the zumba. I am thinking about joining the gym which would work out to be a little cheaper and I could use the equipment and do more classes if I wanted to.
