CLEANING FOR COMPANY

Sunday, August 14, 2011

We are having friends over today for dinner. We are having lasagna. My DD and I made a pan of WW lasagna for the two of us. I will let everyone know how it is tomorrow. Anyhow, there is nothing like company to motivate me to clean the house. Yesterday I decided I was going to mop my kitchen, downstairs bathroom and hallway. I thought this was a good way to burn some calories and get some much needed exercise. I think mopping gave me as good if not better workout than zumba. Muscles in my body were sore that I didn't even know existed. My stomach was sore, my back, my shoulder and my knees. Maybe I should scrub my floor more often, even without company coming. Good workout. LOL

One of my favorite memories (funny comments that my kids said to me when they were younger) was when I was cleaning the house, and they asked me who was coming over. This made me laugh. That particular time I was actually just cleaning and we weren't having company, but the kids' comment rang true that that was usually the most likely time for me to clean....when someone was coming over..... a great motivator, for sure! emoticon

DOWN A STICK OF BUTTER LOL

Thursday, August 11, 2011

I lost a whopping .02 lbs. this week. My leader said it was equivalent to a stick of butter. LOL Anyway, a loss is a loss. I guess it is good because I didn't exercise and/or track. Next week will be better. My DD and I are going to do Zumba on Monday and Wednesday. I would like to try it for next 3 weeks until she goes back to school. emoticon

Your title for this blog made me think of something I heard on the radio yesterday about a state fair offering deep fried butter. Yep! It's a whole stick of butter that is deep fried! Better to lose it than to eat it! emoticon

    Could not agree more!
It sure is better to lose the stick of butter than eat it. Now when I lose a small amount like less than a pound, I will remember this statement.

SORE FROM ZUMBA YESTERDAY

Thursday, August 11, 2011

My DD and I did our hour of Zumba yesterday. I think I must have sweated at least 2 lbs. I was exhausted by the end of the session, but felt a great sense of accomplishment that I had done this. Tonight is our Weight Watchers meeting. I don't think I have lost any weight as I have not tracked and only exercised once this week at Zumba.

NEED MOTIVATION TO EXERCISE

Saturday, August 06, 2011

I don't know what is wrong with me this week, but I don't feel like exercising. Last week, I was really into it, and this week, don't feel like doing it at all.
I need a kick in the butt to get me started again. Help!

Consider it a reward for all the well-done jobs you do and consider it very good medicine for the stressful events in your life. Give yourself a hug! emoticon

More ideas: Put a sticker on your calendar for every day you exercise; take a pix of it, upload it onto your SPpage. Accountability & fun

Try it for 10 minutes, hopefully you'll keep going after that. Have fun, switch things up!
Good luck!

I need to get back on track too. I'm going to do something fun and active tomorrow. Maybe we will have to exchange stories about something fun we did/are doing.

For me, part of the motivation is that I get to enter in my exercise into the fitness tracker. I have that satisfaction that I did what I was sposed to. If I start razzing on myself at some point during a day that I've already exercised....WELL, I get to give that lousy self talk a kick in the butt. I like that, too! emoticon

Ahhh, remember SP is a Lifestyle. You are 'stylin'.

If you can't get back to exercising, this upcoming week, THEN, you'll get a kick from me.

That being said.....

Get past the emotions. It isn't something we FEEL or DON'T feel.

Do you FEEL like washing those dirty dishes? You wash 'em b/c you have to. Same goes with exercising. I know others would say they LOVE to exercise, they get the 'high' from it, etc. For me, it is just 'doing the SP work.'

Hope this helps some. HUGS.

MY WEIGHT IS BELOW ONE OF THE MAGIC NUMBERS

Thursday, August 04, 2011

I am into the 140's. Just barely, but I am finally there! I weighed in today and I am 149.6. I have lost a total of 9.4 lbs. It has taken me 15 weeks. It seems like a long time, but hopefully, if I keep up the exercise and tracking, maybe it will come off a little quicker, like a 1/2 lb. per week. Maybe some weeks a whopping l lb. I was really hoping for a l lb. loss, but at least I am under one of those magic numbers that we all have.
Must have been the Zumba of which I do not ache at all today, surprisingly. LOL
